In essence, while Proton VPN offers fast and user-friendly service, the DNS leak issue is a significant drawback. Users in need of strict privacy should tread carefully or wait for an imminent fix.

- Valutata 1 su 5di Kookai, 4 mesi faVPN doesn't work with Firefox Containers. Split tunnel is only whitelist mode when it should be blacklist instead. Doesn't have the same feature set as the desktop app. Plus Proton is stubborn in not implementing SOCKS5 to make it work with Firefox Containers even though Mullvad does it.
For anyone coming here, just subscribe to Mullvad instead and use the advanced proxy settings for Firefox containers. - Valutata 1 su 5di Utente Firefox 18298287, 4 mesi fa
- Valutata 1 su 5di Rufus J Squirrel, 4 mesi faI really love Proton as a company but this add-on is infuriatingly buggy. Every time I boot Firefox, it will not reconnect and I have gotten to the point where I have to disable and re-install it to get it to work. I never had this problem with Nord and Proton offering a Firefox extension was a big factor in my decision to switch. I have no idea why it won't connect either because the way it is designed means it just sits there in a window with a spinning pinwheel and won't give me any information about what it's doing.

- Valutata 1 su 5di siam, 5 mesi fawent through all the steps to get it to work, made an account, whatever– and when i opened the extension to turn it on, all the countries are grayed out and the only button available is one telling me to upgrade my plan. i got this extension because it was supposed to be free. clearly, it is not. incredibly disappointed.

And btw, for some reason my Proton log in didn't work for this extension (I use a password manager, so not only do I know my log in info is correct, I was able to log into my Proton account via the Proton website).
I had to close Firefox and disable this extension. - Valutata 1 su 5di KnOwlEdge, 6 mesi faRIDICULOUS decision.
A free addon for paying users.
Who on freaking earth, heaven and hell came up with this amusing idea?
And they don't even write it clearly in the short description right next to "add to firefox", which is as far as most of us go when downloading something with a good reputation.
Seriously, who can be so greedy and mean to make such an addon only available to paying users?
Another famous VPN also offers 10GB free monthly and they offer an addon for everybody.
It totally makes sense.
There are already enough downsides with the free account. Let people use the app, so they can see if they like it. Not everybody wants a system wide VPN!
So not customer friendly.
And their people in Reddit even removed my post when I was asking about this.
I swear I will never pay for anything Proton now. EVER. - Valutata 1 su 5di Utente Firefox 18210921, 6 mesi fa
- Valutata 1 su 5di Davide, 7 mesi faIt leaks dns. When you connect, it's still using old DNS servers.

Is it paid in the browser only? I don't understand anything... - Valutata 1 su 5di KaptainCnucklz, 9 mesi faYou have to pay to use the browser extension.
I would much rather just use the extension than be forced to install a program.
