Firstly, when I go in to edit the save folders I can select, the text field and edit as expected, however, the save button does not always work. If I access the extensions settings via right clicking on an image, going to the extension in the right click menu, and selecting settings through there, the save button works. However, If I go to about:addons then I select preferences for the extension, I can still edit the fields, but uppon clicking save the browser goes back a page to the addons list and does not update the folder paths. Another thing that would be cool to see is nested folders. for instance if I have
Pictures/memes
Pictures/Resources/School
Pictures/Resources/Personal
Pictures/Other
in the config then the right click menu could show some expandable containers
extension>Pictures>memes
__________________Resources>School
____________________________Personal
__________________Other
This could allow for better grouping and less clutter if we have a lot of subfolders.
There is also no contact listed for the developer to submit bugs from what I can tell. Hopefully they will see this review, looks like they check back here occasionally
Finally, it would be nice if there was more control over how the files got automatically named. For instance having a field where you could enter something like "{Date}, HH:MM:SS, image {domain}, {tab title}" which would be parsed at save to fill in the parameters.
I really like this app, and would like to rate it higher, but until it has these features, I'm afraid I have to give it 3 stars. The save button bug is especially annoying. - Valutata 4 su 5di Jerl, 6 anni faWould be better if instead of just saving files with duplicate filenames right away, it gave a dialog box with the option to overwrite the old one, rename the new one, or cancel.

- Valutata 1 su 5di Eugene, 6 anni fa

1) Go to your Downloads Folder ( C:\Users\Username\Downloads ). Create a folder called "Symlinks" (For the sake of having everything in one place in case you actually use your Download Folder for something)
2) Open the Command Prompt with Administrative Rights (Click on the Start Button, type "cmd", right click on "Command Prompt" and run as Administrator)
3) Use the following command to create a hard link to an existing folder you want to have as an option for downloading to: mklink *Symlinkfolder* *Targetfolder*
So if your target folder was something like: D:\Pictures\Cats the command would look like this:
mklink C:\Users\Username\Downloads\Symlinks\Cats D:\Pictures\Cats
In the Symlinks folder a Linkfile named "Cats" should appear
4) In the Options of the extension, Add the line "Symlinks/Cats" (You can also delete whatever you don't need ). Then restart Firefox so it reloads and actually takes the changes (Necessary in 1.2 it seems. Can you fix this so it changes it if you press save? )
5) Now you should have your own Options listed in the menu and it should save it to the folders specified in this way. Repeat for different folders as needed.
It would be nice if the plugin could do this by itself, but I don't know if and how that'd work with Web Extensions. (Or in the mean time, put up a guide like above into the description so people know what's possible ;) )
Also, yeah, seconding the doubleclick feature :) Also, it'd be nice to have an option where if the file already exists, it either does the renaming thing as it does now, or opens up the Save Prompt so you can rename it yourself or cancel.
Well, all in all, The closer you can get to the old plugin, the better :p
Good Job so far, though! - Valutata 5 su 5di nemuri, 6 anni faawesome feature in pre-quantum firefox
As a frequent animu-board user, I really miss the old double-click-to-save feature :( and auto-renaming is crap
BTW, you can save images to folders other than downloads, you just need to create symlinks in downloads folder.
It's "mklink" command in windows, and "ln -s"in linux. - Valutata 3 su 5di Utente Firefox 14042268, 6 anni faI really miss the old plug-in and was great. I'm hoping eventually you're able to make pictures be saved to specific folder instead of just the downloads folder. Other than that I hope this plug-in does well because it is handy and I'm glad to see it return regardless of which developer makes it.

Changing the folder names in the settings doesn't work so I'm stuck with the default ones. I tried clearing the folder name settings so I could get a one-click save button instead of the normal *save as* option, but that doesn't work either.
Downloading files with identical names are automatically renamed to ...(1), ...(2) etc, which I really like. - Valutata 5 su 5di Carlos Cervera, 7 anni faEs una gran extensión, sinceramente pensé que con la llegada del FF Quantum ya no habría una actualización para esta extensión tan útil y sencilla.

We then have to cut and paste stuff from these places we created under duress to where we want stuff to be (or completely rethink our files and folders structure). Ridiculous!
However, within the confines of this new and very time consuming Mozilla dictatorship, I doff my cap to the developer of this extension because he (or she) has designed the best possible way to Save an Image in a Folder of limited choice. Well done! - Valutata 5 su 5di John Staples, 7 anni faNot perfect, and that's FF fault! but this addon is good....

- double click >> last saved folder
- filename rewrite (awesome feature!!)
+1 to this, I got so used to double right click on images to save in the last folder that its one of the top 3 features I miss the most in FF Quantum.
Other than that, this add-on does a really good job! - Valutata 3 su 5di WRCS-UK, 7 anni faA good attempt at replicating Save Image in Folder. Unfortunately it fails because Mozilla fails to provide an API that would make it work properly. Having to find and then type in every possible download location (which can only be within default download location and therefore requiries new locations that don't fit my file structure) is a pain in the rectum. Remember when specifying a folder (any folder) was just a click away?
I have advised Mozilla that the current "Save" API is not acceptable. I hope that the brave developer of this extension and all of its users have followed a similar path.
This is my computing device. These are my multiple HardDrives. It is my choice where stuff gets saved (it is not Mozilla's role to restrict this choice). - Valutata 4 su 5di Grny, 7 anni faGood attempt does what is says but sadly being able to save all over the place to my other drive is now a lost feature (fuckin ff)
