di Mylk, 4 anni faThis is promising, how do I add my own reverse image search and tab (url in the current tab) search?

pubblicato il 4 anni faHi Mylk, thank you very much for your review. Modifying and adding own reverse image searches will be added soon after I have finished redoing the current search-item editor. Then you can add different search-items for different selection types.

pubblicato il 8 mesi faHi there, unfortunately this is caused due a Firefox bug which affects many extensions that use a similiar set of permissions. The bug has already been reported 8 months ago but Mozilla isn't doing much about it. See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1851083.
Since there is no solution in sight, and your 2 star review was a painful reminder, I just have downgraded Trufflepiggy - Context Search(v0.9.11) to the old manifest version. So this should solve the issue for now.
You may wanna update your review once you are on the latest oldest version again. That would be helpful.

pubblicato il 10 mesi faHi Vitaly, as we already wrote per email I think it's a great idea and I'll try to add sooner than later. Although Context Search doesn't allow dynamic parsing and search term matching due it's limited permissions I'll be able to add another submenu that reuses the last used search-term without reselecting.
The feature probably will make it into the official v1.0 Context Search release.
Thank you for the idea and review,

Thank you very much for your overwhelming review. - Valutata 5 su 5di cmustudentx0001, 4 anni faI've tried several other add-ons with the same function, and I think this one is the best. I especially like the beautiful design. Not sure why so few people are using it.

Greetings from Vienna,
Clemens - Valutata 5 su 5di David Maisonave, 5 anni faI highly recommend Trufflepiggy.
There are two Add-On's associated with Trufflepiggy.
Trufflepiggy Context Search
Trufflepiggy Quick Search
I don't see the difference between the two, and they're both excellent.
I recommend to use one or the other. You don't need to have both Add-on's.Replica dello sviluppatore

UPD: Context Seach is the little sibling of Quick Search. You can use your setup with both. Context Search was created later for all users who just want a context menu and no overlay. Therefore context menu requires less permissions which some users prefer. - Valutata 2 su 5di AnonAM, 6 anni fa

Bye,
Clemens - Valutata 5 su 5di Olivier de Broqueville, 7 anni faHi Clemens,
I'm the author of another Context Search extension, which I had originally created for friends who were disappointed that Ben Basson's extension was not compatible with ffx 57+.
I'd like to congratulate you for your extension. You've really done a nice job at making the setup both powerful yet easy to use. I also had plans to bring image searches using tineye. After seeing your extension, I believe I'll stop developing mine and move on to something else, because you've really implemented most of what I had in mind, including sharable lists of search engines. The only minor thing I don't like so much about your extension is the name TrufflePiggy because it doesn't say much about the extension and what it does (I'm not so fond of pigs either!).
Anyway, I'd like to share an idea or two that I had the intention of implementing:
1) you could extend the list of possible search engines to chose from by adding the ones from the mycroft project (Geoffrey De Belie who helped me a lot with Context Search created an API to query and retrieve data from mycroft; check it out here: https://github.com/Smile4ever/mycroftproject-query/tree/master/searchengines-data-api)
2) I had plans to create "smart" folders, i.e. folders which would appear in the context menu depending on the context (e.g. the images folder would only appear if a user right-clicked an image, and for words I wanted to allow users to define regular expressions, which when matched by the text selection would make an associated smart folder appear in the context menu). I thought this would be a really nice and popular feature, so I'm happy to share it with you now and hope you'll bring it to reality!
I wish you the best of luck with your future developments.
Keep up the good work!
Cheers,
Olivier.

pubblicato il 7 anni faHi Olivier,
wow, thank you very much for your nice words and great feedback. I feel honored. Yup Ben's extension was very popular before the Quantum update and I like your background story why you developed your Context Search addon, which has a lovely user base btw. Hope to get there someday too.
About the name - I think it kinda fits because truffle pigs search for something valuable very fast and directly with their nose. So it is a good analogy for a direct web search tool, but of course tastes are different :-)
Thank you for your ideas.
@ 1: yup Mycroft is a great source for Open Search plugins. I didn't know about the linked github project. It is indeed a good starting point to maybe integrate and convert their plugins and even offer more searches right away. Right now I'm busy with improving the editor but I gonna take a look at this later.
@2: both is definitely planned. I already have a rule system in place to adapt and prepare selected text for some searches like e.g. my WHOIS search where it uses the current URL if nothing is selected, but currently it's not user editable. User contributed regex rules have been requested a few times and I think they will be a great addition. Your review motivates me to add this sooner than later. Thanks.
Also the possibility to create "smart folders" & searches which appear only in certain scenarios and websites has been in my feature list for quite some time. I already prepared my code base to build different menus for different scenarios in update 0.1.0. So the only thing that is needed is a small database update and UI updates for the editor, which is probably the most difficult task without confusing the user. So thank you very much for your input! It seems we think alike in this regard. So once my current tasks are done and live I probably gonna start right with your #2 suggestions right away.
Thank you very much also for sharing your code base.
Have a great day and greetings from Vienna,
Clemens - Valutata 5 su 5di LostPacket, 7 anni faThe only WebExtension that I know of that can perform concurrent searches in multiple configurable groups of search engines ("Context Search" by Olivier De Broqueville can handle a single group only).
