It's a planned feature to allow users to choose the standard dark/light instead of the matching solarized dark/light theme.
I hope to complete it, although I am really busy because of university starting
Update Nov 2020: If you still work like this feature, please feel free to send a PR to the Github repo… I don't think I'll have time to implement this myself - Valutata 5 su 5di MaTeeN25, 6 anni fa

My only issue is that when I open Firefox, the addon page for ZenFox opens as well. I'm not sure if that's intended or not. Other than that, it's a great extension.

Thank you for your kind words :)
EDIT: Update just released, should fix that^ - Valutata 5 su 5di Utente Firefox 12340065, 7 anni faI'm an enormous fan of Solarized. This is by far the best Solarized theme out there for a bunch of reasons. First, and most importantly, the theme component is implemented really well. It just looks great. Second, it is really flexible. Third... it is two themes in one! I normally dread adding extensions, but I adore this one. I do have a bug, though. I can't seem to be able to switch themes in manual mode. Pressing the button doesn't seem to do anything, no matter the website. I took a screenshot of the browser log, hoping that it could help. https://i.imgur.com/jtU53Mh.png
edit: I can't reply to developer reviews, so I'll just edit this one with a response.
I'm honestly not sure what the best way of doing things is. I have absolutely *zero* design skills, but I would think that clicking the tool button to open a popup might make the most sense, since that's what most extensions that I use for Chrome seem to do. But I'm not really sure...
And no problem! Thank you for making this awesome extension.Replica dello sviluppatore

The toolbar button only switches the theme when 'manual' method is selected (otherwise, time/weather method check every 5 minutes for an update on time/cloudiness, so manual choices would be overridden every 5 minutes). So first, please do select manual method in the 'Preferences' page for Zen Fox, and then save. That should get the button working.
Next, in v1.5 it would appear upon install that manual was already selected on that settings page, but you would actually need to hit save anyway — in the latest update, it is not pre-selected any more. Hopefully that should clarify that the user needs to choose. I'll add this to the description too, and get to work on hiding the button when incompatible methods are selected.
A question: Do you think that a settings page is the right way to go about options, or a popup that drops from pressing the toolbar button?
Thank you for your kind words and review <3, and for taking the time to attach that screenshot!

EDIT: I can't reply to a review again, so I'm editing this old response too!
After the latest updates, if in Weather/Time mode, clicking the toolbar button opens the settings page (upon seeing which, the user should hopefully realize they are not in manual mode). Clicking it while in manual mode changes the theme, as it should. Additionally, hovering on the toolbar button also tells you the current mode, so it should be clearer.
I think the above process is clear enough for now, without the added complication of a popup for such a simple theme :)
