- Rated 1 out of 5by 12, a year agoНе способен блокировать рекламу из за нежелания разработчика внедрить решение для борьбы с динамическими модификаторами рекламы.

I got the ad every day, until I uninstalled the extension.

posted a year agoHi,
We are indeed currently running a contribution campaign, therefore a contribution popup might appear (it will only happen once per user), but the user can simply close it and continue browsing. Adblock Plus remains a completely free extension and all contributions are 100% voluntary.
If you are seeing the popup constantly, we apologize for the inconvenience. In this case, we would recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the extension. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18364885, a year agoBack in the day this was THE Ad Blocker. Now it is NOT. Time to move to uBlock Origin folks, where ALL ads, not just the ones Ad Block Plus hasn't been paid to show you are blocked. There is no good reason why the Admiral bs can't be blocked using Ad Block Plus other than it being by design. So long and thanks for all the fish!

- Rated 1 out of 5by Smoking Pig, a year agoEats all available memory when blocking ads from Yahoo, then sucks up swap as well. Also maxes out the CPU so you can't even close tabs. The only remedy is to restart the machine. NOT recommended. Ublock Origin has none of these problems.

Yes, I refer to the Acceptable Ads program, allow me to translate it in a bullshit-free language: ABP make companies pay for the right to bypass (allowed by default ABP extension config) the ads-blocking feature.
In other terms, ABP comes as an extra pay-wall between ads companies and end-users by imposing a new fee for passing "The Acceptable Ads Committee", where the main criteria for "acceptance" is nothing but the dime the advertisers have to pay ABP to let their ads go through. Great, the ads won't be animated, yadi yada, but that's still an ad.
As Rick Sanchez would say, it's just advertisement, with extra steps.Developer response
posted a year agoHi,
Thank you for your review.
In this program, websites are permited to show certain ads on the page. However, those ads have to be produced according to a series of criterias (ie. not animated, non-intrusive, cannot block content, etc). Websites have to apply join the program and are judged by a committee. This ensures that all pages follow the criteria established.
Users can chose to opt-out from seeing Acceptable Ads at any time in their ABP settings.

posted a year agoHi,
Thank you for your review.
Although we have now introduced a Premium version, our free standard version should block ads just as well as the Premium. The upgrade only offers more customization and additional features, but the ad blocking remains completely free.
You can read more about our Premium version here: https://help.adblockplus.org/hc/en-us/articles/7981157227667-All-about-Adblock-Plus-Premium

How about I leave you behind? Automatically launching new tabs (when trying to make a new tab yourself) that advertise "features" like this, especially features that are ALREADY FREE (just look up the "I don't care about cookies" Adblock filter list), is highly intrusive and is therefore against what you originally stood for concerning blocking intrusive ads.
Stop selling your soul for money. If you need money this bad, just sell this plugin to someone else, because you are clearly not responsible enough to keep up its reputation.Developer response
posted a year agoHi,
Thank you for your review and feedback.
You are welcome to use the free filter list, which is why we offer it for users who prefer not to upgrade to Premium. However, this list is not mantained by us.
Our Premium cookie filter list is proprietary so we are able to make constant improvements to it. For our free filter list where we rely on a volunteer filter list author to keep it updated. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 14734534, a year agojust download uBlock.

posted a year agoHello,
YouTube's anti-adblock wall should no longer appear with the ABP desktop extension installed in Chrome, Edge or Firefox. You may see a variety of different behaviors such as a temporary black screen or a very brief display of an ad. These are related to our efforts to stop ads from appearing for you.
If you are still seeing the anti-adblock notification, make sure there isn't a different extension or other software triggering the notification to appear. If something else is not triggering the wall, we recommend the following steps in this order:
1 - Sign out of YouTube.
2 - Clear your browser's cache:.
3 - Sign back into YouTube.
If you continue to see the wall after trying those steps, please contact us at support@adblockplus.org. We will be happy to look into it! - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13368081, a year ago
