I hope this message finds you well. I’ve been using the Ahrefs SEO Toolbar and appreciate the valuable features it provides for website analysis and SEO insights. However, I have some concerns regarding the permissions it requires, particularly its access to all data across the websites I visit.
I understand that the toolbar needs to gather SEO-related metrics such as backlinks, traffic estimates, and keyword rankings, but I’m curious about the necessity of granting access to all the websites I visit. Specifically, I would like to know:
Why does the extension require access to data on all websites, rather than limiting access to only the page being analyzed?
What types of data are being collected, and how is this data used?
Does the toolbar collect personal browsing data or sensitive information (such as passwords, personal accounts, or other private content)?
How does Ahrefs ensure that user data is kept private and secure?
As a user, I value privacy and would appreciate it if the permissions required by the extension are aligned with its intended purpose of providing SEO metrics without accessing unnecessary data.
Thank you for your time and attention to these concerns. I look forward to hearing back from you and understanding more about how my data is handled. - Rated 3 out of 5by Korwin, a year agoPlease add a counter of external backlinks to the current page.
