- Rated 4 out of 5by hendeak123, 3 months agoFantastic add-on, I love that it gives the option to set a custom background color without having to actually change it or the default for the docs. I just wish it would update to apply the dark mode to the new Document Tabs feature since it is now permanent and clashes with the dark mode aesthetic. Aside from that though, I can never use Docs without it again! Never had any issues with it functionally.

- Rated 4 out of 5by amg0426, 10 months agoLove this add on--it works great and it's easier on the eyes than others I've tried. Only thing it's missing is support for the google docs citation tool... Text is barely visible when you go to input it, but if you don't mind changing to light mode when adding your sources it really isn't a problem!

- Rated 4 out of 5by MacStevins, a year agoI was expecting support for other Google Docs Suite, but it only works for the main Google Docs
- Rated 4 out of 5by Cyan, a year agoIt's pretty good, but I wish it would make the entirety of Google Docs dark, and not just the documents. If the Google Docs dashboard was also dark, that would be great! Still though, it's really good. My eyes can finally rest easy on the dark background.
Some of my other critiques are, the highlights do not show up at all, even if they are white or yellow. Comments no longer have their highlights.
This add-on is really good though, don't get me wrong. It just has some kinks to iron out. - Rated 4 out of 5by tauriawrites, a year ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by Tango Wert, 2 years agoExtensions works like it supposed to. Only issue i have with it, is that whenever I try to find a word ( cmnd + f ) on the doc, the highlight appears dark, making it hard to find what im looking for. Other than that, this extension really helps out my eyes. Thanks!

- Rated 4 out of 5by Knight Hallow, 2 years agoI've been loving this so far, but recently the "Invert" option changed so now every time I try to invert the text it just changes the entire page to white :(
Thank you so much for this add-on, it's amazing and has saved me so much headache!Developer response
posted 2 years agoThank you for your feedback. This issue may be a side effect of another issue surrounding the document color, which has been fixed in DocsAfterDark v0.6.1. Upon updating, if the invert option still does not work as expected, please contact issues@waymondrang.com. - Rated 4 out of 5by Coolshows101, 2 years agoIt used to be really good. Now google changed their to bar and it appears white. Hopefully this can be changed soon.

posted 2 years agoThank you for your feedback. Many visible issues caused by the Google Docs redesign have now been fixed in DocsAfterDark v0.6.X. - Rated 4 out of 5by Malygris, 2 years agoEasy to use and works like a charm. Only thing it's missing is a way to easily adjust text colours, but that's built into Google Docs anyway so not really an issue. Ridiculous that Gdocs doesn't offer a dark mode natively but as long as that's the case, this plugin fills the gap nicely.

Contains icon replacements! The only external URL in the code is the donation link, so there's no security concerns. (inspected version 0.5.3) - Rated 4 out of 5by Withering, 2 years ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by GeneralKenobi, 3 years agoI love this extension, by far the most practically functional, stable, and well featured extension for enabling Dark Mode on Google Docs
A feature I would like to see however is the ability for the extension to effect embedded google docs pages within another page.
For example, I use the DM Screen on 5eTools and embed the Google Docs document of my campaign notes for reference and quick editing without needing multiple tabs or windows open, but it's very jarring to have google docs sit there in light mode, blazing like the firey sun.
Thank you :)Developer response
posted 3 years agoThank you for the feedback! I have not added dark mode support for the embedded windows, but this is something I am working on. - Rated 4 out of 5by Cyntaria, 3 years agoGreat for making the page darker, only issue is it doesn't make black text white like in microsoft office for example. I understand it may be difficult to implement as you're a 3rd party dev making essentially a mod for google docs. Could it be possible to make black text appear white like with something that automatically edits the page source thing? For now I have to use shade but I'd rather use dark and not have to manually change the text to white, especially as it's for shared documents. Thanks.

posted 3 years agoThank you for your feedback and ideas! In version 0.5.2, the invert option has been modified to achieve an effect similar to the dark mode in Microsoft Word. - Rated 4 out of 5by Starkeeper, 3 years ago
