- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 16255010, a year agoSo far so good. I managed to make it work from options, but no thanks to the explanations of the author, which are non-existent, and the interface is also not intuitive. There is still a thing or two that I don't get, but I don't need it for now. For example the auto/auto-manual/manual stuff (I've put "auto" and it seems to work for what I want, but not clear what the other options do). Also the HTML output only/input&output; I have no clue what it means. Finally, the URLs to be typed. What does that do? Also right click and paste works only if you start typing something in a blued field, delete that and then paste.
A short (and good) explanation would be necessary. - Rated 4 out of 5by SonicAnatidae, a year agoThis is a very simple application. It mostly does what I needed. To simply replace every instance of WORD with OTHERWORD, while viewing/reading web pages. Well done.
Suggestions for future updates.
1. Allow more than 1 word to be replaced, although, this may be possible already, and I'm simply ignorant of the ability/syntax (ie. comma separated, etc)
2. When I toggle Reader mode, the app does not replace the text within the web page. Having the same functionality in reader mode, would be useful and a common use case, I believe.
Thanks! - Rated 4 out of 5by Alexander A., 2 years agoGreat add-on!
I wish there was an application of substitutions on page change. The number of websites that don't reload pages is growing (YouTube, Amazon, etc.), so it's becoming a nuisance.
Also, dark theme would be highly appreciated. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 17225066, 3 years ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by a duck, 4 years agoCan the 'Apply auto substitutions every time interval' be toggled via the toolbar menu? Also would be great to enable this automatically for a specified list of domains.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Deadly-Bagel, 5 years agoThis addon is great both for tidying up something obstructive (actually broke the page) someone posted on a site I frequent, and also for working around an annoying no-select flag.
However, regarding the latter, I've found that HTML replace does not work on page load. I know the replace is good because it works on interval and when run manually, but not on page load. - Rated 4 out of 5by fradadf, 5 years agoThe "Apply automatic substitutions every _ seconds" function is VERY VERY VERY easily making the websites LAGGED and CRASHED.
P.S. The above comment should be polite, does your mother teach you that? - Rated 4 out of 5by Rainbow_Spike, 6 years agoNice, but very heavy, 1.39 MB
* If you need to use simple search/replace - use "Replace" from erosman, 57 KB
* If you need to use automated search/replace (but without regexps) - use "Search and Replace" from rwanyoike, 36 KB
* If you need to use favorites, find/replace history and templates for cursor auto-inserting - take "Find & Replace for Text Editing" from Dalimil Hajek, 945 KB - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14803119, 6 years agoA sanity saver! I used it to replace Trump with F***face and I can actually smile again. Thanks Marc!
- Rated 4 out of 5by Galmok, 6 years agoThis addon almost worked perfectly, but the replacements aren't working on page load with Azure pages. Have to manually apply the translations once the page is loaded. I was looking for an automatic solution. Otherwise, this addon has it all.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13267335, 7 years agoI edited this after some research and it uses JS' regexes for its regex support. Definitely missing documentation.
Cannot Home/End in the fields which adds strong annoyance and frustration when editing in fields. Cannot see full expressions, have to scroll with arrows like crazy.
Still, it seems to work Ok for what it's intended for. - Rated 4 out of 5by eledoster, 7 years ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by electron, 7 years agoI wish it also had the ability to
* search for patterns without replacing them
* highlight the search term in the page
* substitute one word at a time - Rated 4 out of 5by Yume, 7 years ago
