- Rated 3 out of 5by spootboot2, 7 days agoI am just so sick of not having any spell check/grammar check software catch anything, even if it is behind a paywall like this one. Originally, I was just relying on the spell check on MS Word to catch things on my graduate papers before submitting them, but it that was useless. So I added a different extension add-on for Word and used both to no avail. They still missed stuff. So I downloaded the Language Tool extension and realized that it would catch more advanced mistakes if you paid for it... I am in the process of working on my Master's capstone, so I need all the help I can get. I pay for it and add it to MS Word. Tell me why all three of those spell checks don't catch when there is a duplicate word?? Or a missing period at the end of a sentence?? Or even when there is a jumble of words together that don't make sense like, 'before the in study was performed...". What is the point of me paying for the advanced version of LT if it still will not catch even the simplest mistakes? Maybe I am expecting too much.

- Rated 3 out of 5by LimeRed17, 14 days agoGetting the following error in Nextjs 15.1.7 app only due to this extension. Fixed when I disabled this extension. Please fix this asap:
Hydration failed because the server rendered HTML didn't match the client. As a result this tree will be regenerated on the client. This can happen if a SSR-ed Client Component used.
- A server/client branch `if (typeof window !== 'undefined')`.
- Variable input such as `Date.now()` or `Math.random()` which changes each time it's called.
- Date formatting in a user's locale which doesn't match the server.
- External changing data without sending a snapshot of it along with the HTML.
- Invalid HTML tag nesting.
It can also happen if the client has a browser extension installed which messes with the HTML before React loaded.

- Rated 3 out of 5by edenflare, a month agoNot bad but it cannot spell Bisglycinate or Allulose, Magnesium Bisglycinate from Magnesium and Allulose the natural sweetener.
What else can the AI not spell? That's why I took some stars off, because it cannot learn words, or slang talk. - Rated 3 out of 5by Lawrence, 2 months ago
- Rated 3 out of 5by ThatManZam, 2 months agoI required this extention to keep me on my toes while writing stories on twinery.org/2 , however although errors are highlighted I find it very difficult to activate the pop up that would allow me to correct them. That and when it does work it adds the new word to the existing word rather than overwiting it

- Rated 3 out of 5by L. Wi., 6 months agoPlease remove the annoying premium upgrade nag screen, it's very attention grabbing and is definitely going to make me uninstall the app faster than actually buying the extended features.
Also the errors tally/bubble keeps blocking my view of the text box, as well as blocking out buttons in the GUI I need to be able to press.
Otherwise, it is very fast and intuitive, I just wish these two things were thought out better before being introduced.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 16315383, 9 months agoI love this addon WHEN it doesn't correct my British English spellings into American ones. I've read your instruction - there is no English "(no variant)" in settings, and selecting "British English" in "Interpret English as:" doesn't stop the addon from correcting my British spellings. This has to be a bug.

posted 9 months agoI have just tried with "colour" and it gets accepted when British English is selected. Please contact our support at support -at- languagetoolplus.com with a screenshot of your settings and a screenshot of the text. - Rated 3 out of 5by Siluri, 9 months agoMostly decent, but British English is not listed as a mother tongue or preferred language, so I was constantly get 'corrections' from British English to American.
I CANNOT have English 'no variant' as ONLY option shows US flag for both mother tongue and preferred language. The only place where English British is available is variants which doesn't seem to ever come into play when I was using this as it only ever flagged up British spellings wanting to change them to American.
I'd post screenshots but i cant seem to be able to.Developer response
posted 9 months agoYou can set your mother tongue as "English" (no variant), and then a bit further below in the settings, there's a "Language Variants" settings where you can set British English. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18337524, 10 months ago

- Rated 3 out of 5by Pepper, a year agoI downloaded it because it advertised itself as working for multiple languages. While it did appear to work fine for English and French, it unfortunately failed to catch basic Japanese grammar mistakes such as missing particles and misspelled words. Given that I need this most for Japanese (as that is my weakest language at the moment), I have decided to remove it from my browser.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Sebo1020, a year agoThe spell check system automatically checks punctuation first and highlights text in yellow ...which automatically blocks/disables spell check itself, how come there is no way to configure the order of these options
