- Rated 2 out of 5by Art, 2 months agoFor some reason malwarebytes really abuses my ryzen 3600. It makes the CPU temperature go up to 65 degrees Celsius on some websites.

This was we can test and ensure it is fixed. - Rated 2 out of 5by charliemp, 3 months agoI'm sure that it does a good job for security, but it really slows down the page load speed so I have disabled it.

posted 3 months agoThanks for letting us know, we have more performance updates coming. - Rated 2 out of 5by JD6T_P6, 3 months agoI've been using "Malwarebytes Browser Guard" for a couple of months, and I've noticed a few issues.
There's no doubt it does a great job blocking malicious sites, trackers, scams, etc. But it also slows down the browser when I have several tabs open or when loading more than one tab at the same time. After testing, I noticed a pattern (at least in my case): the more images a website has (Google Maps, ArtStation, Pinterest, etc.), the worse the browser's performance gets. So, I went into the extension's settings and disabled its three main features (Ads/Trackers = Off, Malware = Off, Scams = Off) for each of these sites, but to my surprise, it didn't work—the sites were still slow. I assume that Malwarebytes is still scanning all the links on the site, but the fact that this happens even after disabling those features feels like a big flaw. Hopefully, it's just me not knowing how to use the extension properly, but for now, I had to disable it.
At first, I thought the issue was related to my browser's cache or something similar, so I reset the browser, and that fixed it temporarily. However, once I reinstalled my extensions, the issue came back. After testing them one by one, I found out that the problem was caused by "Malwarebytes Browser Guard."
This wouldn't be such a big deal, but I use the aforementioned pages a lot and at least I think that many users also use Google Maps and from my experience, that's where the issue is the worst.Developer response
posted 3 months agoThanks for the detailed feedback. We are working on performance enhancements, keep an eye out for more updates. - Rated 2 out of 5by wietop, 8 months agoThe extension works most of the time, but every time I go to weather.com, it freaks out and I just keep getting redirected, with the numbers on the icon going up like crazy. I've cleaned my cache, I have the latest version of the extension, so I don't know what the issue is.

posted 9 months agoWe have a release pending review by the Mozilla team that addresses this issue. Keep an eye out for 2.6.27.- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 16843189, 9 months agoEver since latest update, when you toggle off the block ads/trackers it still keeps blocking them (this also happens on EDGE too), please update this, it didn't do that until the latest udpate version 2.6.26
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 17221368, a year agoApp can be handy to have at times, but has on a handful of occasions been the cause of issues while web browsing. Either by severely impacting performance or by causing pages to fail to load correctly (most recently being Outlook.com), I think I'm done having to troubleshoot browser issues only to realize it's this add-on causing the problems.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 12344652, a year agoIt's currently breaking major retail sites like Wal-Mart and Home Depot. On these sites, Home Depot for example, if I search for a store item and go to that item's page I can see it for a few milliseconds and then the page just goes white. The only thing that fixes the issue is disabling this Add-On. I tired disabling all of my other add-ons, clearing the page's cookies and cache but the issue is this.
To test it for yourself go to HomeDepot.com, search for dewalt toolkits, and select one. Then try to look at the item. This add-on prevents me from doing so and makes the page solid white in both Firefox and MS Edge.Developer response

posted a year agoHi there, this should be resolved now. YouTube does not like ad blockers. - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 16509233, 2 years ago
- Rated 2 out of 5by WDP&HS, 3 years agoMB Browser Guard is selective in it's blocking. Went to update my MB subscription and discovered only by reading the source code that I was being tracked by adobetm.com. This add-on was running even for private pages and gave it a clean bill of health. Go figure!

posted 3 years agoHi there, thank you for bringing this to our attention!
We have added adobetm.com to our block list. - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 14721471, 3 years agoHorrible, broke websites from loading certain sections, is not able to catch all trackers either.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 15605482, 4 years agoCouldn't figure out why on many retail websites, the "Customer Reviews" section of the page would be missing or not work.
Once I removed this this add-on, the reviews appeared once again.
No option to white list websites so I just removed the add on. - Rated 2 out of 5by Larbo, 4 years agoI don't know what has changed but I can no longer see reviews at Costco.com on Chrome and only turning off this extension (or going Ingognito) fixes it? Bug???

posted 4 years agoHi there!
Thank you for providing us with the website link. I was able to verify what you stated.
It is being caused by the Ads/Trackers blocking feature of Browser Guard.
The review link may have an advertisement or tracker link 'baked in' which is being blocked. For now, when you find one of the review links that do not work, click the Blue M icon in the top right of your browser to open Browser Guard and turn off the slider for Ads/Trackers.
Reload the website and the reviews link should load. - Rated 2 out of 5by Ty, 5 years agoUnfortunately I encountered an issue with this extension that automatically cancelled my image downloads. There was no way to fix this, so I had to uninstall this altogether. If there was an option to turn that off, then I'd give this 5 stars.
Other than that, this extension served it's purpose of blocking access to shady websites which I really appreciated, but that download cancellation thing became too annoying to deal with.Developer response
posted 5 years agoHey Ty, you're right, that is annoying and I'm sorry you had this experience! We've identified the source of this bug and we will get it fixed as soon as possible.
If you decide to reinstall the extension, you can workaround this bug till the fix is live. Click on the extension icon and temporarily disable "Scams Protection" on the page you want to download from. - Rated 2 out of 5by sarptas, 5 years ago(1) Kullanmak için e-posta adresi ile kayıt olmak gerekiyor! (2) Engelleme kategorilerindeki filtre listelerini görüntülemek ve liste ekleme ve çıkarma imkanı yok! (3) uBlock Origin ile birlikte yaptığım testte, engelleme başarı yüzdesi %25-30 düzeyinde.
(1) It requires to register with your email address to use! (2) It is not possible to view or add and remove filter lists in blocking categories! (3) In my test with uBlock Origin, the percentage of blocking success is 25-30%.!!Developer response

- According to the graph everything ever blocked was blocked today, meaning it is just one straight line from 0 to the total block count. - Rated 2 out of 5by rooiratel, 6 years agoNot sure what the point of this is, if you can just install an adblocker like uBlockOrigin. It will take care of most malware on the web, and you can also block javascript with it if you really want.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 14213941, 7 years agoToo many sites classified as "clickbait"; sites that are similar to aforementioned clickbait sites aren't flagged as such. Extension continues trying to block ads and flagging clickbait despite having the option disabled. Not really worth use at this point.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Miquel, 7 years agoHe hagut de desinstal·lar l'extensió perquè m'ho bloca quasi-absolutament tot. Google maps, Bing maps... bye bye malwarebytes.
