- Rated 1 out of 5by ShibePatrol, 3 months agoThe addon works just fine, but when you go to uninstall it, it spams you with requests for feedback. I absolutely loathe software that acts in such a sleazy, spammy way. I'd not use it again for this reason.

posted 3 months agosorry to hear that it "spammed" you, it should only ask once and thanks for bringing this up, I will definitely check it - Rated 1 out of 5by MuntedMunkeh, 3 months agoEven when turned OFF, it still nukes site functionality. When turned OFF it prevents essential site pop ups like the repost options on twitter for eg. NB: it is not the only site it cripples when turned OFF, only the most recent example that prompted me to write this and delete the extension.
There is no point having an extension I have to constantly monitor to enable and disable the entire time I am browsing just to prevent a mild annoyance. That is more of an aggravation and hindrance to what I'm doing than the actual problem it is was made to "fix."
Maybe an update that isn't over a year old might help.Developer response
posted 3 months agoI'm sorry you didn't have a nice experience with PopUpOFF. It is indeed not for everybody as it states in the description:
"Drawbacks?
- It still is in development, so there could be bugs or imperfect solutions, I’m working on it solo and there are other things in the world to do. So be gentle, I created it for myself back then, but now I’m doing it for you."
Given that twitter is a pretty popular site and you're the first one to report the issue which cannot be reproduced by me or neither browser, I give you 99.99% that it was something else that was working poorly on your setup. Also I wrote the code and "turn off" means turn off, it just doesn't work. - Rated 1 out of 5by DrChefphd, 4 months agoVery weird behavior by the developer all over this page, touting good reviews that aren't real and accusing people reporting bugs as shills.

posted 6 months agothanks for the report, would be nice if you share which websites have bugs. In the meantime you can pick a "turn off" mode in popupoff on a certain website - it will remember your choice and will not create issues for you - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13404543, 9 months ago

posted 4 years agoThanks for the 1/5. I optimized it and requested Firefox to release mobile version of my extension. Nothing else I can do now. Now we wait- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13457300, 4 years agoDidn't work. Froze tabs, Firefox, then Windows explorer windows. Uninstalled Firefox after saving bookmarks. Reinstalled FF but won't use this extensiion ever.

posted 4 years agoI'm sorry to hear it. Could you please provide me with the website it froze on?
Also, browsers only can use part of memory from your PC, so it seems unrealistic that extension could froze Windows explorer - there is probably another issue.
