by HR2, 4 years agoI already use this extension since old scrapbook version. Now I reinstall my computer and this extension seems corrupt (reported by Firefox).
Please check the extension file. Old version 3.1.0 works. New version corrupt.

posted 4 years agoHi, you may need to reinstall the backend program. Or even, if you are Linux user, you maybe need to compile backend for yourself as well, see https://github.com/vctfence/scrapbee_backend.
The latest version is 2.1.3, please check.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14790351, 3 months agoThis is a very useful add-on for Firefox. It's also a very clever and robust solution that uses an open-source back-end to get around some of the limitations of the Firefox Quantum. Please be sure to support Victor given the effort required to develop this irreplaceable add-on.
- Rated 5 out of 5by IronNem, 9 months agoThank you for the excellent add-on. It would be fine to have "Open saved page" button in progress dialog after page downloading - to check and clean result.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Niki, a year agoI love this add-on - I loved Scrapbook, and I badly needed a replacement, and here it is! I use it to keep copies of online recipes, and to easily download HTML copies of books from Project Gutenberg which I can then use the edit function to mark up.
Unfortunately, it will only work for a month or so, and then it will fail to load and I will have to re-install. I think this has to do with its default behavior on my system of downloading to, and installing in, c:\Windows\temp. When I manually installed it elsewhere, it worked for about six months uninterrupted before I needed to reinstall it again (today) - at which point it wouldn't work until I let it install to c:\windows\temp again. So that's mildly inconvenient. If there's a more graceful fix for this I'd be grateful to hear it!
One feature from Scrapbook I wish Scrapbee included was the ability to define "link depth" in the Advanced Save function. Any chance of this happening in future updates?
Edit: I did not find out why it stopped working. And today I tried to follow the Manual instructions on the help page, and it was very confusing and didn't seem to have anything to do with file location, just host and port and password. I can only seem to get the extension to run if I do the automatic install from c:\windows\temp.Developer response
posted a year agoHi, did you find out why it stop working in months? And I suggest to run backend (placed in a diffenent directory) manually, see "Install and Run Backend Program" part in help page. - Rated 5 out of 5by Giorgos, a year agoThe best ScrapBook X replacement since firefox transformed into a Chrome-alike browser.
Strong points:
1. Can read ScrapBook X data (rdf files)
2. Saves pages with the same accuracy as ScrapBook X
3. Satisfactory search
4. You can delete or modify elements of a page before save
5. You can attach comments in the saved pages
6. You can export saved pages as html
Weak Points:
1. Its sidebar must be open if you want to save a page (annoying)
2. The folder-tree is not visible in the right click menu (also annoying) and you have to navigate to the right folder in the sidebar to point where you want to save the page
3. In ScrapBook X you could drag and drop the icon next to the url address bar onto a folder in the sidebar to save the page. Unfortunately this is not available in ScrapBee
4. It lacks the ability to show the size (KB or MB) of saved pages/folders
Update:
Suggestions for improvements
1. fix all the weak points mentioned above
2. Ability to password encrypt saved pagesDeveloper response
posted a year agoHi, it's not possible to show folder-tree in the right click menu in a "Chrome-alike browser", and you can save without opening sidebar in advanced saving. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13340465, a year ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17800677, 2 years agoОчень хорошо, что дополнение начало поддерживать русский язык.

- Rated 5 out of 5by fox-user, 3 years agoGreat addon! But it ScrapBee still lacks some of the features that are in ScrapBook. For example, calculating the total size of the saved pages and each separately in order to find out which saved pages are big size. Also, after the last update, the ability to hide editbar was lost. Victor can be returned option «Lock Editbar» or make the settings option to hide editbar? Thank you!
Developer response
posted 3 years agoHi, editbar locking removed because the old editbar made bottom part of the page unreachable sometimes and the new one does not. But, this function still can be taken back in the future if you like it. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13523201, 3 years agoWhile ScrapBee is slower than the original screpbook, it allows me access pages I captured via scrapbook and to capture web pages like the original has. I ran into a problem because the backend on Linux was built using GLIBC 2.32 while Ubuntu 20.04 has only GLIBC 2.31. Following Victor's advise I downloaded the code and in a few seconds (yes, that's all it took) I built the backend, renamed it to scrapbee_backend and moved it to replace the one installed via the extension. All is working again.
Developer response
posted 3 years agoHi, you can compile backend for yourself, see source code and compiling commands in backend github repo.
What is slow for you? - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 15308694, 3 years ago5 stars but this f*cking music while searching......
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14685480, 4 years agoSince v2.2.12 the backend binary is built with GLIBC_2.32, however Debian system still stays with GLIBC 2.31 even in the unstable repository and it's been at least two months that scrapbee can not be used because the backend can not be executed. Could you please build one version with glibc 2.31 so that Debian users can use it?

Only one small issue is that keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+B is in conflict with Bookmarks Toolbar display switch. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13326192, 4 years ago

--UPDATE (REQUEST):
When an item in scrapbee's sidebar is selected, if you save a new item, it is saved below / above that item and NOT at the bottom / top of the sidebar. Can you change this behavior? Often the last saved item is then difficult to find.

Only a bug (on Windows 7): upon installation, Scrapbee stucked on "Loading...", after I configured it. So I tried to delete the first line "chcp 65001" from the install.bat and now it's ok.

When I save a bookmark with ScrapBee, it shows a info tooltip. Is there an option to block to show that info tip? Thx.Developer response
posted 4 years agoHi, thanks for the bug report, and the notification can not be set off so far, option can be added in the future. - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 13479930, 4 years agoI've recently lost access to my old Scrapbook by upgrading to current Firefox. I'm really confused by ScrapBee as have added it to my extensions but cant find any clues as to how to get it working, nor do i know how to recover the old Scrapbook files?
