Yeah I also think that the UI is a little confusing. The 4 window icons are too prominent, big and colorful compared to HOW OFTEN (I think) they are used. Especially the close window one. I would put these inside an ellipsis menu in the top right.
Bug: after picking a window color, the view doesn't return to show all tabs. I need to open the picker dialog again and click X to return. This is in contrast with renaming a window, which correctly returns to the main view.
The color picker dialog is really confusing. I don't understand what logic the pre-selected pastel colors are ordered by, e.g. the blue hues are all over the place.
I don't like the tinted hues of the dark mode. I would prefer a dark gray mode, not a "dark green mode", if you see what I mean. The color scheme is just unnatural, including the windows colors.
I hope these issues can be fixed in the future, otherwise it's a really useful extension to cut through the tab chaos! - Rated 4 out of 5by oehmsmith, 4 years agoThis is SOOOO CLOSE to what I've been looking for. And that is to have categorised windows. For example 'social media', 'development', 'devops', 'home', .... and to get any new window that opens to land in the correct one of these. Currently the allocation is manual and theoretically once setup it wouldn't be much work at all. Setup works in TMP, excepting it is NOT PERSISTED. The tabs will remain together but the newly added titles do not stay. Once Markus adds a few more features on top of the *fixed version* of this plugin we will be well on the way to utopia. At that time my 4 stars will become 5.
New Features I'd desire to see include:
1. Keyboard shortcut to enter the 'search' input (Oo I found it - Shift-CMD-M by default on Mac)
2. Auto-assignment to categoriesed windows of newly opened URL. Initially can be simply based on pattern matching or base URLs. Work up to baysian learning, or based on other people's classifications.
Other Issues
----
1. 26.11.20 - One month later. Tonight either TMP or FireFox or another Addon (but i've never seen this happen before installing TMP), nearly every tab from every window moved to the one window. It left 1 or 2 tabs behind in each window. Pretty annoying as I purposely organise the tabs into windows. - Rated 4 out of 5by Jens, 4 years agoAlmost just what I'm looking for... would be neat and I guess more transparent to have actual screenshots of the sites in the overview and not just icons.
I know would take up more space but doesn't need to be detailed, just a much better hint to remember what the tab is about.
Any plans for that? - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13875276, 5 years agoGreat at what it does, although I'll be honest, it can use a tad bit more visual refinement on the UI/UX side. Some display options are prone to minor issues depending on scales/options set (not all of them display in a clean and organized way) but it's functionally sound for the most part. Apart from that, an excellent tool with a bit of a learning curve. Once you learn it, it becomes a breeze to jump between dozens of tabs inside multiple windows. For instance, currently I have 167 tabs open (I do A LOOT of research) and I can't tell you how much time the search function has saved me in finding a specific tab in all of that chaos. What used to sometimes take me minutes to find, now takes me 2-5 seconds. Very well done.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Celebrinthal, 5 years agoSuper useful, although there's an issue. Saved windows don't always get restored fully, for example today I wanted to restore a 5-tab window by clicking the "+" button and it opened only the first two tabs plus an empty tab (which was not part of the saved window). I tried opening it again by clicking on one of the tab icons of this saved window, and I got 5 tabs, but the last one got changed to an empty tab instead of the saved website. I hope this can get solved soon.
Edit a couple of days later: Again, I can open max 2 + an empty tab when trying to restore a 12-tab saved window :( Please, fix this asap if you can.Developer response
posted 5 years agoYou could try again, there were some improvements in the last few versions in that regard. If it still doesn't work, please send me the json to markus+tmp@stefanxo.com
Thank you! - Rated 4 out of 5by Mrn Om, 5 years agoUnable to restore a saved window or open any tab from it, a new window is opened instead :.( FF 86.0.1 (the latest update could've broken smth) on Windows.
Also would be nice to be able to select tabs in saved windows to move them to new window. - Rated 4 out of 5by André Luiz, 5 years agoSince last update of Firefox USR (now in version 68.2.0 , 64-bits), I can no longer change from one window to another by clicking in tab icons within the add-on own pop-up window... Besides this current bug, it works great!
