- Valutata 1 su 5di RoboMeister, 10 giorni faNow, my one-star rating is by no means because of this addon not doing its job well - it is very good at that. But recently, the developers made the callous decision to block ads on a website called Modrinth by default.
To explain, Modrinth is a website that hosts Minecraft mods, resource packs, and similar files and provides revenue to the people creating them. To do this, they use ads, albeit unobtrusively and leading to legitimate partners such as server hosts. So for uBlock Origin to suddenly blacklist Modrinth by default, AND stifle all discussion about it on their Github, makes zero sense. I'm gonna have to swap adblockers until they can get their act together and focus on far more malicious content rather than harmless ads that genuinely help out a website and its users at the same time. - Valutata 1 su 5di Cammie, 10 giorni faapparently now supports screwing over small creators and other community-run projects, and anyone who attempts to ask them to not just gets their response deleted
I cant in good conscious recommend any community-run project that is willing to harm other community-run projects, especially when they won't even listen to valid criticism of their decisions

Not just "big evil ads" but small affiliate links, at the bottom of pages, by small solo developers. In my opinion this is a gross overreach of what uBlock Origin should be used for. uBlock Origin should block ads, not small affiliate links added by developers just making something for fun and just wanting a little bit back.
It is ridiculous for uBlock origin to censor the content people post like this, why do they think they are the deciders of what content is allowed to exist on the internet? Shameful.
I can see the reason for a opt in filter list for things like affiliate links for those who care, but on by default censoring users content is ridiculous. - Valutata 1 su 5di McJustice, 11 giorni faAs of 11/06 causes youtube videos to stop buffering on SOME videos, I assume with forced ads. This occurs in Firefox

- Valutata 1 su 5di Trogocytosed, 15 giorni faAs of yesterday 6/16/2024 uBlock Origin is failing to block advertisements on YouTube using the Firefox 126.0.1 browser, thus rendering the principal utility of this add-on useless for me.

- Valutata 1 su 5di LS, 3 mesi faUseless on mobile browser. Won't pick elements effectively or permanently. Have to go back to the app page with every pick. Yet unwanted elements not removed. And if I'm missing something that means it's NOT user-friendly. Frustrating to use and all that effort and it just won't work. Meanwhile features to block large elements or JavaScript won't turn off. I know mobile versions are inherently inferior but still. Don't want.
- Valutata 1 su 5di Spicy_Pacifist, 4 mesi faPlease add in a way that clears Youtube Cache or something. No matter what I do my videos keep jumping ahead ever since you got rid of the purge all caches button. I do not have the time to clear caches of websites after I use them every single day. Please add in something to make it happen automatically again. (By the way this is after I read the update on your reddit)
- Valutata 1 su 5di Muppet, 4 mesi faSince week ago or more certain links do not open even when disabling all the filter list, and start working after disabling ublock extension like youtu.be share links but also other websites can randomly get blocked even tho they aren't after disabling and re enabling ublock origin, not sure whats causing this i suspect ublock is is malfunctioning
edit: I just checked its bassicly on defaults, if i disable plugin then enable it works for a time until browser is restarted, it was also blocking infinite craft website 1e google result, behaves same way unless i disable plugin, i do not have this plugin in edge will check and update in a bit if it also happens in edge with ublock origin
edit: i had ublock origin on all the time on edge it does not happen however in edge suspend network activity is off currently
After configuring edge the same as firefox, the youtu.be links always work, even after killing it will update in an hour probably maybe a day and update if not the case, cos usually after disabling plugin in firefox and enabling it again it works for a while.Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 4 mesi faDid you inadvertently enable the no-popups switch? See https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Per-site-switches#no-popups
Anyway you can get better help by reporting on official support forums along with your troubleshooting information -- see Support pane in uBO's dashboard. - Valutata 1 su 5di Utente Firefox 18295784, 4 mesi faThis was working really great til today when it didn't work on youtube anymore. please let us bypass youcrap again!
- Valutata 1 su 5di IvanJGC, 5 mesi faHello, this site, https://free-mp3-download.net/ has it's "adblocker detected" message popping up. I tried everything to remove the message so i can use the site again but nothing happened. Ublock origin also doesn't work as well when i tried to update the filters. Please sort this issue out. A lot of users are having the same problem with the site especially those who are using Ublock origin as their adblocker!

- Valutata 1 su 5di Utente Firefox 18096434, 5 mesi faDoesn´t work anymore on some streaming sites since clear cache button is removed. Popups and ads on some sides. Updating lists does nothing.
- Valutata 1 su 5di Darkman, 5 mesi faThey removed the "purge all caches" button!
Update 2024-01-18:
So, if I have a page with updated anti-adblocker script (not YT), I have to wait up to 5 hours now. Or I have to click on the clock icons from all the lists. This is really a usability improvement......not.
Update 2024-01-19:
I probably expressed myself badly:
I have a site that doesn't want me to use an adblocker. The site recognizes the adblocker with some script and blocks me. This happens every few weeks. The last time was a few days ago with uBO 1.55.
My solution so far: Use the "Purge all caches" button. Then I was able to visit the site again. For me, this meant that I had one/several outdated filter lists in uBO.
If the problem was caused by another addon or my browser, I would not be able to solve the problem with "Purge all caches".Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 5 mesi faThe "Purge all caches" button was causing people to download multi MBs of filter lists with no guarantee that the fix was present in any these lists. There is no need for that crude way of updating filter lists:
- Differential updates ensure you have most recent filters multiple times per day instead of once every 6 days
- In case a fix is added to a list and is immediately needed by a user, we provide a click-to-update link in support channels to guarantee you receive the fix with minimal bandwidth burden
Keep in mind uBO is not monetized and we can't afford to end up having to pay tens of thousands of US dollars to a CDN providers to host the lists -- this would be the end of the project.
Update 2024-01-18:
The updated anti-blocker has no effect on uBO, no fix needs to be added to the lists, so something else in your browser is causing this, and re-downloading all the lists would have accomplished nothing except pointlessly consumes bandwidth of the server.
