- Valutata 4 su 5di jvb, 3 anni faThe 1Password extension's icon used to appear in my Bookmarks bar; now it's only in my menu bar. Why?

You can put the icon back in its place by following the steps here: https://support.1password.com/missing-browser-button/#firefox
Feel free to email us if you require further assistance with this at support+x@1password.com - Valutata 3 su 5di Utente Firefox 17051350, 3 anni faI wrote a frustrated review to start but deleted that with my new understandings that might help first-timers like me.
First, this doesn't automatically make your passwords better or accounts safer. All this does is remember your bad old passwords. You have to manually go in and change all the passwords. As in, go to every site one at a time, go to your account, go to "change password" and then have 1P come up with a new password that you manually copy and paste. It'll remember the password, but you're doing most of the groundwork which seems like it will take a long time. Second, you can help it get started by downloading your saved passwords from your browser then uploading them into the 1P site. Still, it's just remembering your old, crappy password and not doing anything on it's own to make your accounts more secure until you go through the sites, one by one, updating them with the random password 1P generates. And if you're like me, that's a lot of sites. Third, I still haven't figured out how to get into, say, my email account if I'm not home or using a public computer. If I get 1P to change my password to some random letters and numbers to make it safe--great! But then when I need to check my email on a friend's computer, how do I do that? I'm seeing some things about 1P Anywhere but haven't gotten anything definitive yet. So keep that in mind if that's important for you.Replica dello sviluppatore

Thank you for taking the time to write this review!
Yes, 1Password is a tool designed to store and manage all of your passwords. And no, it will not automatically or automagically change all of your passwords for all of your accounts because that’s not (currently) possible, since every website is built and designed differently, but not only that, it would also be an extremely intrusive and privacy-breaking action that we most certainly will not be comfortable offering! Our users’ privacy is extremely important to us :)
The transition to a password manager is not always an easy one. When you start with 1Password it will let you know how many websites and passwords from your list are weak or compromised, and you will need to go into each website and create a strong new password to improve your security. But once you’re done with that initial transition phase, you will be good to go and know that you are oh so much safer online! Not only that, you will never find yourself in the same situation again because 1Password will be there to generate strong passwords automatically for you from now on.
As for your question - if you have specific accounts or services that you would like to be able to log into without 1Password’s help, it is best to generate a strong memorable worded password for that website/service. That way you will be able to memorize it and log into it on any device. Simply open 1Password’s generator and change it from “Random passwords” to “Worded passwords”, or generate them here instead: https://1password.com/password-generator/?type=memorable

I had LastPass for a few years and it was working ok, but just ok, but it definitely went downhill fast! The last few months was a disaster. So I decided to change over to 1Password and it was the best decision I've ever made. It works flawlessly! Very user friendly and has all of the security measures that I need. I feel very confident that my information is protected by 1Password and I highly recommend it.

I did not expect a response from the dev but it was a pleasant surprise. I did see the responses to other reviews but wasn't sure. I tried the fixes/suggestions provided. They work, thank you. I was evaluating to see if i should purchase the family plan.
This proves the level the service they provide. Please keep this up. I purchased the plan for an year. Thank you.
For interested parties i did not use the same email address for this review as the free trail account in case of cheeky business :). They do respond to every review.
Previous Review
Ctrl+Period shortcut never worked. It opens app when i want to use the browser extension. Not sure why app is needed when i am using the browser extension.
It does not have an option (easily available) to generate new password. It does not allow me to choose the length and types of characters in the password it generated. The UI is clunky.
For writing this review i had to create a firefox account. It did not prompt to create password.Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 3 anni faHey there,
Sorry to hear you’ve had a rough landing with our extension.
Most of the points you’ve raised can be adjusted in the extension’s settings page (right-click the extension icon and select “Settings”).
In the settings page, you can change the keyboard shortcut to something else that is available and works.
You can also turn off the integration with the desktop app so the extension would work separately and won’t launch the desktop app at all.
You can generate new passwords in the generator, which is found in the extension’s menu - click the extension’s icon in Firefox’s toolbar, select the PLUS icon to reveal the menu and select “Password Generator”.
You can also change/set the default password recipe so it will always suggest your own recipe instead of our smart passwords.
If you have any further questions, feel free to email us and we’ll be happy to help you get everything working as you’d like it to :) - Valutata 5 su 5di Utente Firefox 14019598, 3 anni fa

- Valutata 2 su 5di Javier GG, 3 anni faIssues when unlocking: whenever I open Firefox I click on the icon, introduce the password, it shows that everything is correct, but it does not unlock (black lock sign still there), so I need to repeat the process until it decides to unlock. I am using version 2.0.5, although this is a recurring issue since some months already.
Once it is unlocked, it works like a charm.Replica dello sviluppatore

Sounds like there might be an issue with your 1Password desktop app that is causing the extension to hang when unlocking.
We’d love to help you with that. Can you please email us all the details to support+x@1password.com ?
Looking forward to hearing from you,

1Password will show up and suggest autofilling not only in password fields, but also in email fields, address fields, credit cards and more.
You can use a variety of items in 1Password to autofill everything you need online.
In case you find 1Password’s suggestions too intrusive, you can tone it down by right-clicking the extension’s icon on the top right corner of Firefox and turn off the “Show autofill menu on field focus”. That will prevent it from showing up automatically, giving you full control over when and where it will show up!

The add-on would not unlock, it would do nothing, and normally previous versions 1Password add-ons work right away, after signing into the account. So I did try to remove, and install again. I did try to quit Firefox, and launch again with same results. At the end, after submitting to tech support, I re-started the pc, and 1Password toolbar started working flawlessly as ever. Tech support sent me a message with instruction, and follow up. This shows commitment, and response time was quick. I didn't need to follow their suggestions, since my problem was solved.
So, if you bump into same issue, remember to restart your desktop, we used to do that all the time before.
And you can always reach tech support for clarifications.Replica dello sviluppatore

Signing into web based account directly doesn't connect to extension.
Fortunately the classic extension is available and this functions. Latest changes to 1Password all appear to be negative.Replica dello sviluppatore
