pubblicato il un anno faHi! We'd like to let you know that we've released a fix for the issue. Please make sure you've updated the Proton Pass browser extension (1.15.1). If you're still having issues, contact us at https://proton.me/support/contact so we can investigate further. - Valutata 1 su 5di Utente Firefox 17981312, un anno faCurrent the Proton Password Manager is breaking Firefox. I first became of the issue when a web editor stopped loading on one of my computers that has Proton Password Manager installed. After accessing the same page on two different browsers successfully, I "refreshed" and reset Mozilla Firefox and I was able to access the Web Editor. Then I re-installed Proton Password Manager because I put all my important passwords in and the Web editor immediately stopped functioning. I
Furthermore, the page I had open to Proton.me broke as well. Deleting the Proton Password Manager resolved access to the Proton site, but darn if my twelve sentence passphrase isn't locked down on a GDrive behind one of those passwords I can't get at quickly.
This one incident kills the value since I will be manually resetting passwords. While I can't blame Proton for my not printing the pass phrase, having it is useless if the plugin doesn't work on a major browser like Firefox.
Right now I'd give this ZERO stars since even if they fix in today, I will have wasted more time than the plugin is worth cleaning up after trusting it.

June 20-24 - STILL NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME!
As a Firefox extension, this is pretty much a mess. What is simple to do is a pain in the butt to undo.
Proton Pass was loading a different site's login (D'Addario) whenever I logged into my health care company. At the time I didn't have the health care company set up, so I told Proton to stop loading passwords for my health care.
Well now that I have finalized my health care login, darn if there is no clear path to clearing whatever Proton switch was sent to stop the silly app from trying to use the Guitar string website's login info.
Oh yeah, password changes? Don't do it until you have backed up everything, gone to church and had all your shots. Don't take my word for it, check the net, the level of pain this plugin can cause is extreme.
Spend more time reading the one and two star reviews for the real deal. I read the rosy ones and paid for this not ready for prime time plugin.Replica dello sviluppatore

Dropdowns don't work. The wordpress editor encounters an error when it's running. Kindle Reader won't load books. It just goes on and on. I disabled EVERY SINGLE plugin and the problem is Proton Pass. Now that I have it disabled, everything works like it should including page load times that I thought were a problem with my web host. What a MESS this extension is.

However, I could not find out how to open the Pass database in order to see passwords and other data. I wrote to Support but got no reply, a recurrent problem with Proton, I find. I have been unable to get the icon into my tool bar and my efforts seem to have disabled Pass when I try to log onto my iCloud account.

Once successfully added, you can simply select the icon to access your stored login entries and data. - Valutata 1 su 5di Utente Firefox 18198194, un anno faThis app is just not secure. At best, all passwords are secured by a six digit PIN. Sure, you can set up a good passphrase for your protonmail account, but I've used it like twice. Once you log in, it doesn't log you out - even when you exit Firefox. It's open to whomever uses Firefox. The best you can do is require a PIN which must be used if PP has been idle for a certain time. Oh, and the app drops the PIN requirement occasionally and it must be reset leaving you completely exposed in the meantime. Seriously, only six digit protection for all our passwords. Might as well skip a password manager and just use 123456 everywhere.

pubblicato il un anno faThank you for your feedback! The latest version of the extension asks for your PIN when restarting your browser. Please make sure that you are not using an outdated version. Moreover, in general, you should not log in on untrusted devices, so make sure to log out of Proton Pass after you no longer need it, if your threat model includes such cases.
Please report the issue you mention with the extension dropping the PIN at pass@protonme.zendesk.com, so we can look into this. - Valutata 1 su 5di Anonymous, un anno faNow the piece of crap stopped working altogether, it keeps timing out. The only way to get it t work is to use a VPN. Even though, I can access the website normally. I'm going back to BitWarden.
The 2FA is way too limited (3 entries) in the free version.
There's no way to filter your logins by 2FA.
There's no way to generate a random password from the addon itself.
No Light theme.Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il un anno faHi! Could you let us know what kind of filtering options you are missing in an update to your review? Currently, you can filter your data by Logins, Aliases, Cards and Notes. pubblicato il 2 anni faHi! Both services are managed under the same account, so you need to be logged in to use Proton Pass. If this is a cause for concern for you, you can create a separate account for Proton Pass only. - Valutata 1 su 5di Utente Firefox 16418872, 2 anni faDoesn't have autofill which makes is dealbreaker considering it's one of the core features that every other password manager already has.
To make it worse, they use the term "autofill" to describe their difinitively MANUAL method of entering credentials. It's misleading, and confusing. I even wasted two days communicating with their customer support in a frustrating back-and-forth because they don't understand what "autofill" means.Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 2 anni faCan you elaborate on what exactly you're referring to by 'autofill' so we make sure there are no misunderstandings?
Autofill should work on most websites (by suggesting your saved login items for a particular website when you go to log into that website) the same way that your memorized passwords in your browser might work.
We're working on improving the autofill functionality for all web services reported by our community. Please feel free to flag any problematic web services or apps to us either by editing your review or by contacting us at pass@protonme.zendesk.com, and we'll note your feedback for future improvements. Thank you for taking the time to rate and review our extension! - Valutata 1 su 5di C Wolland, 2 anni faUpon reevaluating the Firefox Extension, Proton Pass, it's clear that it holds true to its commitment of being an entirely private and secure password manager—it efficiently safeguards all your data, metadata included. However, the user interface could see enhancements, particularly in terms of detail management. As it stands at the time of this review, only a limited portion of the screen is available for editing all your details.
A key gripe for me is the inability to adjust your login email address—a restriction that Proton itself doesn't see as crucial, suggesting users subscribe to a new package with a different address if desired. This is puzzling, especially since I've managed to alter my email address on other secure platforms like sync.com, which also incorporate end-to-end encryption. Such experiences affirm that this feature, indeed, can be integrated, even within E2E encryption models' framework.
Despite these early developmental challenges and teething issues—commonplace for any new product—Proton Pass, barring the aforementioned points, proves itself to be an impressive offering.Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 2 anni faIf you're on a premium plan, you're able to log in with any of the additional email addresses you may have on your single paid account.
It's not possible to alter or disable the original email address tied to your Proton account at the moment, as this is not only used for Pass but all other Proton services as well. - Valutata 1 su 5di Utente Firefox 18002534, 2 anni faWas really looking forward to using this as my first password manager. However, when going through websites and updating old vulnerable passwords, Proton Pass did not save or offer to save the newly updated password. So after using the "suggest strong password" from Proton Pass, it never saves it! What's the point then?
Firefox asked immediately to save these after updating but Proton did not, making it the inferior product at the time of this review. Extremely disappointed and irritated. And yes "Prompt for auto-save" is turned on in the settings.Replica dello sviluppatore

I have already reported this bug via Proton Customer Support (request #2325002). I'm uninstalling this add-on.
