- Valutata 3 su 5di gary, un anno faVery useful, but one time after I shutdown my computer and restarted it, it cleared ALL OF MY SAVED WORKSPACES. This isn't even the normal behavior, as it always saved the data even after shutting down the PC. If there was a way to export the data or something it would be more useful. Also on launch, sometimes it would just clear all the tabs on the workspace I opened it on, so that the workspace would be changed to only having the opening tab. For some reason, firefox doesn't know what "restore my previous session" means when I reopen my browser. It would be better if the addon could somehow always override this behavior from firefox.

It seems this is unavoidable with the new FF. But it guts the extension:
• When you switch workspaces, you have to wait for all the tabs to reload, and
• When you quit FireFox, only the tabs in the active workspace are saved.
I was using a different container (i.e. identity) in each workspace, with at least six tabs for each of four workspaces. That let me separate business, personal, hobby and second-business work — but having to set it all up again on restart is a bummer. If there's a way to save the workspaces and revive them, I'll up this to 4 stars. But the speed hit from reloading tabs when you switch workspaces puts 5 stars out of reach. Looks like a very good try at doing something Mozilla has sadly made impossible.
My workaround for now is separate windows for each kind of container tab, plus Tree Style Tabs (may have that name wrong) - Valutata 3 su 5di ageor, 7 anni faWorks as advertised.
The deal breaker for me is that Workspaces are _not_ persistent between browser sessions :( - Valutata 3 su 5di TerminusEst, 7 anni faThe big problem for me is that it loads every tab when I select another Workspace. This consumes a lot of bandwidth and processing power. It would be good if it just displayed the tabs with the correspondent addresses, but load only the first one, for example. That way, if I want just a specific tab, I can select it and load it only, just like Tab Groups did.
- Valutata 3 su 5di Steve Allen, 7 anni faA relief to find something that's getting close to the functionality of the much-lamented Tab Groups, but I did almost scream with anguish when I discovered that it doesn't save between sessions, and that a restart following an update threw away nearly 40 tabs in seven carefully constructed groups.
- Valutata 3 su 5di Tatsuya, 7 anni fa"it loads ALL your tabs" mentioned by other person means;
- Assume that
- Some tabs in workspace A and some other tabs in B
- Workspace A is active at present
- I'd like to switch to workspace B. I'll do it.
- Again I'd like to switch back to workspace A. Then all tabs in A are re-loaded.
The expected behavior is, just to switch back to workspace A without reloading, like Tab Groups.Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 7 anni faAs mentioned in the description, this is sadly a necessity due to limitations in the WebExtension API. =(
I wish I could simply hide the tabs while keeping them in their loaded state. - Valutata 3 su 5di CanIregisterThisTime, 7 anni faFirst, as another user has mentioned, it doesn't play well with container tabs. I have to uninstall it for that reason. The other issue is that when you switch between workspaces, it loads ALL your tabs.
Good start, though. I'll check back later.Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 7 anni faTry the v1.1.1 I just uploaded. It plays nice with containers now.
Also, what do you mean by it loading ALL your tabs being a problem? That's what it's designed to do. - Valutata 3 su 5di D.Millings, 7 anni faStill a ways to go before it's a replacement for Tab Groups/Pandora.
While it does seem to remember and re-open the tabs as documented, it seems unaware of the containers the tabs were opened in as the URIs are opened in the 'default' container regardless of where they started. That's a pretty huge problem (if not a deal-breaker) if you're using containers.
Additionally, you can't see what tabs are logged to a workspace and there's no search facility. Neither of these is an explicit deal-breaker but they are limitations you have to plan around, especially if you have a lot of tabs to keep track of for any length of time.
re v1.1.1 Almost! Container awareness works nicely but switching between workspaces doen't close tabs properly.Replica dello sviluppatore
pubblicato il 7 anni faCan you create an issue (https://github.com/fonse/tab-workspaces/issues) explaining exactly how to reproduce the problem with containers and switching between workspaces? I did some tests just now and everything seems to be working fine.
Development for a the search feature is coming along nicely, by the way.
