- Rated 2 out of 5by Gee, 15 days agoThe current version 2024.12.4 of the extension is incompatible with the latest version 2025.1.3 of the desktop app.
- Rated 2 out of 5by John Doe, 17 days agoAnnoying behaviour.
Doesn't save credentials, edit button not responsive, hogs the Firefox app and you have to force close the browser, cannot unlock using phone unlock code.
You get what you pay - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 18814189, 18 days agoI've used this add-on for many years on both desktop and android, but the recent UI changes have made it so much worse. The android FF version just no longer works for me, any attempt to go into settings is a one-way trip needing a Firefox close-reopen to restore the browser. The auto-fill functions just don't work any more, no matter what I do with my tablet settings, and there are just too many possible combinations of BW and android settings, I can't keep track of what I've tried. It should not be so hard. Based on my previous experience I was going to have my elderly family members use it, but I can no longer recommend it - it's just about unusable. I have to reosrt to using the separate android app.
Since the update, the biometric unlocking of the Firefox extension no longer works. I have tried several times to reinstall both the browser add-on and the desktop version, including deleting the history and Firefox memory. After reinstallation, an error message is displayed in the desktop program that I do not have the current add on version. There is only one extension in the add on store and I hope that I always see the latest version there. The settings in the desktop version are set to biometrics as usual. - Rated 2 out of 5by 水貂, 19 days agoThe new UI is slow and laggy, take more steps to fill the password. Definitely less convenient than the old one.
Furthermore, those awkward R angles does not match Firefox at all. - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 15681632, a month agoThis was 5 stars but the redesign makes things significantly worse for me. There should be an option to go back to the old style. There is a way to get the quick copy username, password, and OTP, but the new design makes it so I can't really use it with just a keyboard I need to use a mouse to click the "fill button" and that significantly gets in my way.

posted a month agoHi. Check under Bitwarden Settings > Autofill > "Click items to autofill on Vault view" if you want to restore previous functionality that you may prefer. - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 18796414, a month agoThe old version had a better UI and UX. After the last update, the plugin looks outdated, as if it’s from 2010. It has lost the ability to provide quick autofill suggestions and is experiencing issues with vault unlocking.

posted a month agoHi. Make sure you are on version 2024.12.4 or above, then check under Bitwarden Settings > Autofill > "Click items to autofill on Vault view" and Bitwarden Settings > Appearance > "Show quick copy actions on Vault" if you want to restore previous functionality that you may prefer. - Rated 2 out of 5by Sujal Sinha, a month agoOld version was faster and more responsive... The new UI is not completely bad, but it makes things complex. The performance is now worse.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Jeffrey Arts, a month agoThe new version is a true downgrade. The UI is less intuitive, but more importantly. An essential feature named "sync" is being removed. Which means that I can't use accounts that have any (recent) changed passwords. Restarting the browser won't force a resync neither...
- Rated 2 out of 5by Diddy Kong, a month agoBitwarden has been really good, but they are causing major friction with the latest release. It used to be fast to open vault in the browser, but now it takes a second or two and I constantly have to retype or wait, and it's so annoying.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Bradley Herbst, a month agoChanged the functionally. Trying to get you to click in the password box instead of the top menu, very annoying.

So many useful features from the previous design are missing. UI is difficult to navigate. Large number of saved credentials are not possible to neatly organize. I'm installing an older version for the cleaner, easier to use UI. If this new UI is permanent I'll be switching to a different password manager.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Symes Garay, a month agoUsed to be great, but new UX is clearly a move away from plain password manager towards unneeded usecases for non-existent audience.
Edit: Thanks but no thanks to half-baked solutions. Version 2024.11.2 works as great as ever. What's missing is the "Tab" tab. Clear information "no logins for the current browser tab" is priceless.Developer response

But with the latest update side panel becomes too wide and it's almost unusable, when you keep it open, as almost 1\3 of new UI is hidden. I don't want to sacrifice so much of my browsing pages, to be able to use it (specially on laptop).
If devs aren't change theirs mind, I would be forced to find an alternative massword manager, as it becomes irritating to use Bitwarden :( - Rated 2 out of 5by release3, a month agoI don't need to repeat what everyone else is saying. This update is absolutely terrible. Been paying for this product for years, I won't be if their development team continues designing their software like this.
Stop sacrificing utility and function for the UI. Serve ALL your customers, not just casual users who care more how pretty their tools are over how useful they are. - Rated 2 out of 5by HoodedLime, a month agoUsed to be an amazing addon, easy to use, intuitive, secure. Now it is only secure. Latest update completely ruined the UI, nothing is where you think it would be, I can't just fill my details on website with one click (not talking about login), either this option was removed or it is hidden so well I am unable to find it. Extremely disappointed. There was no need to do any of that.

They did a major revamp that makes the plugin clunky and dysfunctional. If you start using it *now* it might not be much of a problem for you, but it's like someone broke into my house and rearranged all my tools.
- Rated 2 out of 5by 5hiftyy, a month agoWith the new 2024.12.3 update, my muscle memory has been the death of me. Many of the buttons have changed places, the options are different.
Example; when opening the add-on to complete a fill-in action, clicking the main rectangle no longer defaults to auto-fill. It now opens the menu to view the details. Then I have to go back out a menu level, then click on the TINY "(Fill)" blue pill button. The text is so slim and small that to a person with average eyesight, it looks like (F|||) It's a terrible look, and requires two extra interactions I didn't need before.
(Hindsight edit; I found the following steps to add the copy username/password buttons back
Settings > Appearance > Show quick copy actions on vault
I'll give you another star for fixing that at least)
The lack of consideration given to the effect this update has on the user's workflow is astounding. If you wanted to make it more "Apple" and keep the same functionality, that's fine. Making functional changes too, and adding extra steps?? That's too far. I'd suggest reverting back to the previous update's functional framework, and then you can keep the new look.
Edit: while I'm at it, Feature request: Have there be an options default-generation settings, and let me generate a new username or password or whatever can be generated with one click. Add a kebab menu beside the generate buttons for people who change requirements every time.Developer response

Un retour à la version précédente a été nécessaire afin de pouvoir continuer à l'utiliser. - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 13833153, a month agoIt was good until they forced the stupid "fill" button in the new interface changes. Please bring back the old way. Apparently some people can switch back but I've uninstalled and reinstalled the extension several times and still have no option to go back to the way it was.

You moved away from a clean functional look to a shaky and distracting UI. UX also is not a step forward even so I think I know what you wanted to achieve. For me the new design looks cheap and is no improvement.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Kevin, a month agoLove Bitwarden. HATE the UI update. It's too cluttered, too slow, and too big.
Before, clicking the icon would just show me the logins for the current site. Now it loads all 500+ items... I don't know what you guys were thinking when you designed this.Developer response

Form filling stopped working altogether. Please bring back form filling and remove clutter and too many options from UI
