- Rated 2 out of 5by speed, 2 days agoIve never written reviews. But bitwarden has become bad and frustrating. Crazy.
The thing is, I have a protonmail subscription. I was just testing out proton-pass, i rarely used my sub because I just used it for mail. But _wow_. Proton-pass is so good! I will use that for now, the impression is awesome.
Sad bitwarden turned out like this. Im actually a paying customer. - Rated 2 out of 5by AJLobo, 3 days agoI rarely write reviews, but I think this is warranted. The clean, minimal interface that we used to have is gone in favor of a more clunky, busy UI. This is a regression. It even takes over a second to load all the elements on the popout. Also, why would you hide the autofill function under a secondary menu when this is the entire reason we use this extension?!
Lastly, now it gives you suggestions for logins which take priority over your favorited logins. What's next, AI integration to better inform us on how to use a password vault? - Rated 2 out of 5by Gilladur, 5 days agoI have to agree to the negative feedback on the latest version. The extension is less intuitive.
I'm really missing the function to use a catch all email and have the domain automatically set as the local part (domain@catchall.xyz) - why was this function removed? - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 18866214, 6 days agoAbsolute shambles of an update. Why do companies do this, completely change everything about the way an app or feature works so your muscle memory makes you click the wrong thing every time. Also looks awful, no idea who has had a go at writing this version but they should get someone with some UX experience on the job again, or at least someone who has used a computer before.
Will be looking for alternatives after this. - Rated 2 out of 5by sfertman, 7 days agoThis is a great password manager but the latest update is a disaster. Smaller fonts and larger buttons. Autofill doesn't work the way it used to (by clicking on the card.) Looks like this was made for mobile users at the expense of desktop users. Which doesn't make any sense because there's already a monkey-finger-poking app for mobile; why ruin a good thing for desktop users???
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 18857038, 11 days agoSo much about the new interface has made this excellent tool more cumbersome to interact with. There are some tweaks in the settings which can help a bit, but filling in forms has become much more difficult as these are no longer on the default page and there is no obvious fill option. You have to mark them as favourites and they just get mixed in with login items. I would now struggle to reccomend this add-on.
- Rated 2 out of 5by RT, 16 days agoHow do I go back to the old interface where I could click ANYWHERE and it would just work. Now I click 14 times, because click (like I used to), go back, close the edit, rage smash the keyboard, reboot after replacing my keyboard, start completely over, have to say "click the little fuqing button" 180 times while it boots up, click the STUPID button.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Gee, a month agoThe current version 2024.12.4 of the extension is incompatible with the latest version 2025.1.3 of the desktop app.
- Rated 2 out of 5by John Doe, a month agoAnnoying behaviour.
Doesn't save credentials, edit button not responsive, hogs the Firefox app and you have to force close the browser, cannot unlock using phone unlock code.
You get what you pay - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 18814189, a month agoI've used this add-on for many years on both desktop and android, but the recent UI changes have made it so much worse. The android FF version just no longer works for me, any attempt to go into settings is a one-way trip needing a Firefox close-reopen to restore the browser. The auto-fill functions just don't work any more, no matter what I do with my tablet settings, and there are just too many possible combinations of BW and android settings, I can't keep track of what I've tried. It should not be so hard. Based on my previous experience I was going to have my elderly family members use it, but I can no longer recommend it - it's just about unusable. I have to reosrt to using the separate android app.
Since the update, the biometric unlocking of the Firefox extension no longer works. I have tried several times to reinstall both the browser add-on and the desktop version, including deleting the history and Firefox memory. After reinstallation, an error message is displayed in the desktop program that I do not have the current add on version. There is only one extension in the add on store and I hope that I always see the latest version there. The settings in the desktop version are set to biometrics as usual. - Rated 2 out of 5by 水貂, a month agoThe new UI is slow and laggy, take more steps to fill the password. Definitely less convenient than the old one.
Furthermore, those awkward R angles does not match Firefox at all. - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 15681632, a month agoThis was 5 stars but the redesign makes things significantly worse for me. There should be an option to go back to the old style. There is a way to get the quick copy username, password, and OTP, but the new design makes it so I can't really use it with just a keyboard I need to use a mouse to click the "fill button" and that significantly gets in my way.

posted a month agoHi. Check under Bitwarden Settings > Autofill > "Click items to autofill on Vault view" if you want to restore previous functionality that you may prefer. - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 18796414, 2 months agoThe old version had a better UI and UX. After the last update, the plugin looks outdated, as if it’s from 2010. It has lost the ability to provide quick autofill suggestions and is experiencing issues with vault unlocking.

posted 2 months agoHi. Make sure you are on version 2024.12.4 or above, then check under Bitwarden Settings > Autofill > "Click items to autofill on Vault view" and Bitwarden Settings > Appearance > "Show quick copy actions on Vault" if you want to restore previous functionality that you may prefer. - Rated 2 out of 5by Sujal Sinha, 2 months agoOld version was faster and more responsive... The new UI is not completely bad, but it makes things complex. The performance is now worse.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Jeffrey Arts, 2 months agoThe new version is a true downgrade. The UI is less intuitive, but more importantly. An essential feature named "sync" is being removed. Which means that I can't use accounts that have any (recent) changed passwords. Restarting the browser won't force a resync neither...
- Rated 2 out of 5by Diddy Kong, 2 months agoBitwarden has been really good, but they are causing major friction with the latest release. It used to be fast to open vault in the browser, but now it takes a second or two and I constantly have to retype or wait, and it's so annoying.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Bradley Herbst, 2 months agoChanged the functionally. Trying to get you to click in the password box instead of the top menu, very annoying.

So many useful features from the previous design are missing. UI is difficult to navigate. Large number of saved credentials are not possible to neatly organize. I'm installing an older version for the cleaner, easier to use UI. If this new UI is permanent I'll be switching to a different password manager.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Symes Garay, 2 months agoUsed to be great, but new UX is clearly a move away from plain password manager towards unneeded usecases for non-existent audience.
Edit: Thanks but no thanks to half-baked solutions. Version 2024.11.2 works as great as ever. What's missing is the "Tab" tab. Clear information "no logins for the current browser tab" is priceless.Developer response

But with the latest update side panel becomes too wide and it's almost unusable, when you keep it open, as almost 1\3 of new UI is hidden. I don't want to sacrifice so much of my browsing pages, to be able to use it (specially on laptop).
If devs aren't change theirs mind, I would be forced to find an alternative massword manager, as it becomes irritating to use Bitwarden :( - Rated 2 out of 5by release3, 2 months agoI don't need to repeat what everyone else is saying. This update is absolutely terrible. Been paying for this product for years, I won't be if their development team continues designing their software like this.
Stop sacrificing utility and function for the UI. Serve ALL your customers, not just casual users who care more how pretty their tools are over how useful they are. - Rated 2 out of 5by HoodedLime, 2 months agoUsed to be an amazing addon, easy to use, intuitive, secure. Now it is only secure. Latest update completely ruined the UI, nothing is where you think it would be, I can't just fill my details on website with one click (not talking about login), either this option was removed or it is hidden so well I am unable to find it. Extremely disappointed. There was no need to do any of that.

They did a major revamp that makes the plugin clunky and dysfunctional. If you start using it *now* it might not be much of a problem for you, but it's like someone broke into my house and rearranged all my tools.
