- Rated 4 out of 5by Peter Yates, 8 days agoGood overall. The interface is a bit clunky in parts, especially since the copy buttons for password/OTP code were removed from the list. Still, wouldn't be without it.
- Rated 4 out of 5by ZachHeise, 17 days agoThe new UI that was introduced at the end of 2024 is unfortunately, a downgrade. Previously, clicking the entire rectangle of a Vault entry, would autofill on the page. Now, clicking the rectangle opens the "edit" section. And now we need to click a tiny "Fill" button instead. This seems...backwards? The thing you are doing most often is wanting to fill/autofill. Editing is not the typical action, almost certainly. Why not give us an option to reverse this? Make "fill" be the thing that happens when you click anywhere on an entry, and make a tiny button that says "edit" - like how it used to be. Other than that, I don't have any real complaints about the UI changes - but it's a pretty major one.

- Rated 4 out of 5by GammaRay, 23 days agoOne of the best free password managers. Allows you to save logins and other personal information in several different formats, and add custom fields to any login (which can be visible or hidden). This is a "must have" feature for me that some other password managers lack.
My only complaint is that after a recent update, Bitwarden has been a bit buggy, and sometimes you have to save logins twice after editing them before the updated information shows up. However, I mostly use the desktop app so idk if this issue is common for the browser extension too. - Rated 4 out of 5by Gloi, a month agoCan you add hiding/censor of the email when the vault is locked for the current user?
Other than that the extension is great. - Rated 4 out of 5by Razoner, a month agoThis Bitwarden extension does what I need it to, but I liked the old UI from 1-2 months more than the redesign. The redesign has made it more difficult to autofill my passwords and edit my logins.
- Rated 4 out of 5by John Mais, a month agoMy favorite app and extension. But please, restore the previous UI — it was soo much better and intuitive.
Otherwise, it's a great password manager, thank you! - Rated 4 out of 5by Mraedis, a month agoWould be 4 or 5 stars but the recent UI changes made it slower to use (more clicks) which for a tool you use a lot makes zero sense.
Update: thanks for the response, I've edited the review to reflect these settings. Still missing a quick copy for the TOTP codes though.Developer response
posted a month agoHi. Mare sure you are on version 2024.12.4 or above, then check under Bitwarden Settings > Autofill > "Click items to autofill on Vault view" and Bitwarden Settings > Appearance > "Show quick copy actions on Vault" if you want to restore previous functionality that you may prefer. - Rated 4 out of 5by Gokul C, a month ago
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 15958306, 2 months agoLay out is ugly and very 'DOS 1990', but as far as I can judge now, system as such is safe.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Steph, 2 months agoIt would be nice if one could more easily duplicate entries that belong to a collection. (After all the user with editorial rights always already has access to the whole information... it really should at least be adjustable by a setting)
- Rated 4 out of 5by Bart, 2 months agoFill button is a disaster, NEVER change muscle memory behavior! Maybe change the Fill button to Edit button. This will make the edit fuctionality quickly available. But the main goal for a password manager is filling user/password combination. So default behavior should be kept as it was before !
With this Fill disaster change reverted, 5 stars rating will also be restored - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18754789, 2 months agoThe interface update was a mistake. Please put the "copy username" and "copy password" buttons back the way they were. You guys added clicks instead of removing them. This is interface 101: reduce clicks.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18008698, 2 months agoThe best password manager in my opinion, but not the biggest fan of the recent redesign. The most often used functions now have an additional step to access, like copying password or username only, and autofill is now a small button instead of just clicking anywhere on the item. The default view also puts cards and identities (being less likely to autofill) behind yet another couple clicks to filter for those.
While the appearance is nicer, the user experience is definitely worse with this update. - Rated 4 out of 5by Shashank, 2 months agoWill prefer the homepage UI inline to old UI or similar to mobile UI.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 14394784, 2 months agoUpdate: Kudos to Bitwarden for listening to the users and making some of the UI changes reversible. I *still* feel like the extension (and the app) are more visually cluttered and less performant, but it's back to "good enough" at least.
- Rated 4 out of 5by PW, 2 months agoI Love Bitwarden! it does everything it says very well. I only gave it 4 stars because, I hate the new look and feel! it is not as pleasant and user friendly to me as the old classic was! I wish they offered an option to use classic mode! I was very happy with that!
- Rated 4 out of 5by Fargus57, 2 months agoA good app/extension/service, but the new interface is awful and nowhere near as useful as the old interface.
- Rated 4 out of 5by FFReviewAccount, 2 months agoWould definitely be 5/5 stars but this last update made the app worse. It looks worse, it performs worse, the layout is worse. Bitwarden had a good app going. I don't think anyone was asking for a makeover. We just want a fast, lightweight password manager. We had that but now we don't.

- Rated 4 out of 5by Bram J, 3 months agoIt's pretty annoying that the browser extension has no way of taking you to the actual Bitwarden website. Yes, 90% of the time I just need the extension, but for those times I need to open my vault in a new tab and view the WEBSITE version, I have to manually lookup the bitward website and login??? Just act like other extensions, when you right click the extension button the first option should be a link to the website (and it should remember you are already logged in and not ask you to login again!!!)
