- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 16851462, 9 days agoWas very good until the last update. Now the search input does not autofocus anymore when opening the plugin and copying a password takes one more click than before because copy password and copy username are now one button for some reason.

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18807293, a month agoEdit: Thanks to Bitwarden for the response which has resolved one of my issues, partially, because this is not the default and the settings state is not replicated everywhere I have to set this setting in every browser and every account (so work and personal, all browsers). My issue about the cursor not starting in the search box seems to have been fixed/added so that's great, now there's just the UX decision to combine the password/username into a dropdown as a complaint.

The recent update to the addon has introduced a huge UX degredation, instead of a single click to get the password to fill in a desktop application login prompt you now have to hit the smaller copy button and then accurately hit the copy password from the selection box options.
Also, the cursor doesn't automatically start in the search box after authentication anymore, this is really annoying as it forces me to every morning log in and then with the mouse select the search box so that I can get to my email password entry, so that I can then have to select the copy button where I then have to now select the copy password so that I can log into my email because my corporate email account times out authentication after 12 hours (and sometimes, for some reason, multiple times per day).
Also, you now have to hit the small fill button instead of the whole item to get the browser to fill in the details. This is a reverse of what you used to have to do as now clicking the item results in the screen to view the information in the item where you can edit from. I use this far less than I use filling the details so I find this also a big step backwards in UX and looking at the recent reviews it seems clear that they have introduced a lot of UX friction that users are not happy with.Developer response
posted a month agoHi. Check under Bitwarden Settings > Autofill > "Click items to autofill on Vault view" and Bitwarden Settings > Appearance > "Show quick copy actions on Vault" if you want to restore previous functionality that you may prefer. - Rated 3 out of 5by Thiago, 2 months agoThe new UI is nice but i have problems using the autofill in the sidebar. I have to close and re-open the sidebar everytime i want to autofill in a different tab. I'll switch to an older version (2024.1.0) while they fix this issue.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Richard Almée, 2 months agoPretty good, but the last UI update has made it less so. More clicks to do what I need (copy a username / password, filling a form, i.e. the primary goal of the application). Too bad
- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18045432, 2 months agoThe extension has problems with connecting on login attempts to the desktop app for confirmation of biometric verification. I regularly have to resort to manual password entering....
It's becoming worse with the latest updates...
Experience on Acer Spin3 2-in-1, 2020 model. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18766616, 2 months agoThe latest updates are big step back in usability and UI.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Dmitry, 2 months agoDear developers, please, stop replacing the Firefox autocompletion by yours - it annoys almost every time when I am filling in some form, and your extension intrudes in a very unpleasant manner: Firefox shows the autocompletion, I choose an item, press Enter, and the your sluggish autocompletion somehow appears and fills the form with the wrong information. I want to enter information by myself, without your interception.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Paul Shryock, 2 months agoThe new UI is really bad. This extension used to be great, but now it's not very usable.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18758772, 2 months agoWas 5 stars before UI update in December of 2024. The new one makes accessing identity and credit card fills much harder. There were no issues with the old UI. Please revert back to it.
- Rated 3 out of 5by DS, 2 months agoNew version lost features I used. No longer has solarized theme and favorites are sorted by use and not able to change sort. Password management is still 5 stars but new version's user experience is losing 2 stars. This maybe not be an issue for all but found it to be an issue for me.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18756518, 2 months ago5 stars until the new UI update. Please revert to clicking the entire item for auto-filling. Needing to press a tiny "fill" button is a poor user experience.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Alex, 2 months agoThe latest UI changes are a serious step backwards, and seem to be in the category of "Change for the sake of change". Logically, the number one thing a user does when opening the extension is auto-fill a login - so why is that function relegated to a tiny button and clicking anywhere else opens the saved information, without even a further button to autofill from that point? It's very counterproductive and frustrating.
- Rated 3 out of 5by JC, 2 months agoUsed to be 5-stars. They updated the UX/UI and to fill a password, you have to click a small "Fill" button. This makes using the extension more tedious and difficult than it needs to be.
Compare this to the old version where you could click anywhere on the item - a major downgrade for the sake of "updating the UI".Developer response
posted 2 months agoHi. Mare sure you are on version 2024.12.4 or above, then check under Bitwarden Settings > Autofill > "Click items to autofill on Vault view" and Bitwarden Settings > Appearance > "Show quick copy actions on Vault" if you want to restore previous functionality that you may prefer. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18753713, 2 months agoThe new UI makes using this good program much more difficult to use. It even affects being able to login to some sites. Sometimes "progress" is actually a step far backwards. Please go back to the prior UI.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13523419, 2 months agoGreat product plagued by another unneeded, useless, and counterproductive update. Why do dev teams do this? Are you just trying to justify your salaries? I actually like the new look, but what is the purpose of changing the behavior of user interactions? Before, if I clicked on an item I had searched in the extension, it would fill it on the onscreen form. Now, it opens the details. ??? Why is this expected or useful behavior ???
- Rated 3 out of 5by Tomek , 2 months agoWas great till last update. Look and feel is just uncomfortable now. Especially display all items in main tab. This is some kind of misunderstanding. I want ONLY the login and password for the current site there and not all of them! Please hide it. Did anyone complain about the previous design? no! and now everyone is complaining about the new design. Don't fix something that isn't broken! "fill" button? really?
- Rated 3 out of 5by vinifurt, 2 months agoI love this addon and the service provided but the new UI is pretty bad. Now it takes a couple more buttons just to do the same thing.

Update : Kudos to Bitwarden for listening to the users and making some of the UI changes reversible. I *still* feel like the extension (and the app) are more visually cluttered and less performant, but it's back to "good enough" at least. - Rated 3 out of 5by Jeff, 2 months ago
- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18749995, 2 months agoUpdate 2025.01.21: Updating review to 3/5 starts. There is now a setting to restore clicking on the item to fill. Updating review to 3/5 stars as only time will tell if the developer has learned to communicate out major, workflow breaking changes before they make them but things seem like they may be headed in the correct direction for now.
The latest update to the extension added a ton of complexity and clicks to what should be simple password management and form filling. I guess unless this gets fixed I will be canceling my annual subscription renewal and would encourage anyone else to do so as well since money talk.sDeveloper response

It used to have a separated link/button for user or password copy and now there is a inline menu to show which one you need to copy. It is one more click needed against the claimed user experience update.
- Rated 3 out of 5by AlHanley, 3 months agoFantastic features and functionality but the new UI is awful. I'll change my rating to 5 stars once they fix it or revert it.
