- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 13779437, 7 years agoPrintEdit (without WE) was marvelous.
WE has one great flaw: When I click on "Preview" there is no preview. The printer dialog appears. The button "Print" doesn't exist anymore.
Why is there no preview (which is quite important to have a look how the printout looks)?Developer response
posted 7 years agoUsing Firefox 56.0 or later version, the 'Preview' button will switch into the print preview window.
Using Firefox 55 or earlier version, the 'Preview' button just shows the print dialog. - Rated 5 out of 5by ceruleandaze, 7 years ago
- Rated 3 out of 5by onix, 7 years agoVery disappointed by new requirements to access ALL data on websites. Doesn't anyone else see this as a huge security breach?
UPDATE based on DW-dev's comments: I was not aware that the legacy Print Edit has such broad access. This is alarming. So in the vein of correcting these ills, the default Firefox permissions do not give me comfort. For example, does PE WE have access to my financial institution's open website in a separate tab, when I'm interested in printing a New York Time's article in my current tab? While I have no reason to question your word, it's hard to know and feel comfortable with what is going on beneath the surface. PE WE could be scraping all my website data, and I would never know.Developer response
posted 7 years agoLegacy add-ons, such as the original Print Edit, had greater permissions than Print Edit WE.
The permission messages that you see when you install an add-on are generated by Firefox. These permission messages are based on the permissions specified in the add-on manifest file. These permission messages are broad-brush and do not give a detailed insight into the operations performed by an add-on.
In summary:
- Print Edit WE only asks for the permissions it needs to perform its functions.
- Print Edit WE saves the configured options in your Firefox profile on your computer.
- Print Edit WE (when you use Save As HMTL or Save As PDF) saves the page you have edited in the location you choose on your computer.
- Print Edit WE does not send any data to the developer or to third parties. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13761485, 7 years agoТолько он мне показал фоновые цвета на одном из сайтов - просто спасение!
Only this addon show me background cell colors on some site - just a God's hand - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13754871, 7 years agoFor some reason, the "Save as PDF" doesn't seem to work. Nothing happens. Firefox 58.0.1 64-bit.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Brimstone, 7 years agoNo longer works on MAC OS with Firefox 58 update. Locks up the page I am trying to print. Has become useless. Excellent product prior to Firefox 58 update.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 7024602, 7 years agoWorked very well until Firefox 58.0.1 came out. Now it's broken (at least on macOS).
- Rated 5 out of 5by Grey-Black-White, 7 years agoI am using this instead of Print Friendly & PDF because it allows you to edit the page on the same tab and every edit happens on your browser, rather than your page being uploaded some server, which is the case in Print Friendly & PDF. This add-on is also very easy to use and does what it promises without any problems.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Alex, 7 years agoHi,
I've been looking for a Mozilla Archive Format replacement for a very long time. I was even going to write my own.
However, I found your perfect extension. It's superb! I am very grateful to you for your efforts.
I ask you to make some improvements.
Please add the option 'add an information panel to the saved HTML page' in the options. There is a link to the original url on the pdf-document pages. There was a panel at the top of saved .maff pages. Could you optionally add a similar panel for the saved HTML pages?
Here's how the saved .maff page looks like:

I also noticed that the page elements marked for deletion remain in the saved pages.
Such elements are hidden by 'display: none' style. I ask you to add the option 'do not leave in the saved html page items marked for deletion' in the options page.
And really delete them before saving.
Thanks again for the great extension!Developer response
posted 7 years agoThe 'Save As HTML' feature in Print Edit WE is based on a subset of the features in my Save Page WE add-on. Save Page WE can be used with Print Edit WE if you need more advanced save features. All you need to do is to click on the Print Edit WE toolbar button to suspend editing, and then click on the Save Page WE toolbar button to save the edited page.
Save Page WE has an option to include an information bar to the saved page, similar to MAF.
Print Edit WE never really deletes HTML elements. This is by design and is not going to change. - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13343420, 7 years agoits just ok. it does not edit as good as print edit add on / extension.

posted 7 years agoThis problem is caused by a long-standing bug in Firefox that only allows the first page (or first few pages) of some web pages to be previewed or printed. If you disable Print Edit WE and then use ‘File > Print Preview’, you will see that the problem happens without Print Edit WE.
However, you can use the ‘Fix Page Breaks’ command (on the 'Tools' button menu) in Print Edit WE to work around this Firefox bug on many web pages. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13387831, 7 years agoThanks for improvement of 'WE' version. I was waiting for coming back 'fix page breaks' feature. I can get whole page again.

*** Feature Request ***
Add an Option: "Toolbar button initial action" 1) Edit 2) Preview
Currently the initial view is always Edit, but I'd prefer Preview because I'll only want to edit after I see how the default printout appears. On a simple page, I'm likely to to move straight from Preview to Print without the need to Edit. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13694987, 7 years agoAgree with the comments about Version 21.0. The ability to edit on the same page is what I loved about the original Print Edit. I'm glad this was fixed to now work with the new Firefox. Many thanks again.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12825085, 7 years agoWhen the updated version of this program was originally implemented, there were MAJOR problems. At that time it was doing the exact opposite of what I needed it to do. It would lose the information I wanted to save/print, but it would hold on to the superfluous info. I would have wanted to delete. I am happy to report that the problem has now been corrected. This version so far seems to have added the updates without having lost the useful features of the "legacy" version. Thanks for fixing the issues that took place when the update was initially implemented. Great work.
(Just one thing though - I seemed to have run into a glitch recently when I used the program - one that I see was mentioned by "Anonymous user 6ac49b". It will sometimes print things that don't appear on the page when you look at the preview prior to printing.) This was the first time it happened. So I'm hoping it was just a one-time occurrence. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13691037, 7 years agoClean implementation.
Allows you to edit a page, save the result as either html or pdf or print it.
Only issue is that it will sometime try to print things that don't show up on the page.
You can get around this by delete except and/or editing the html after saving it though.Developer response
