- Rated 5 out of 5by syoung1999, 2 years agoJust installed this add-on and it looks perfect. Works 100% to give Google Docs a dark theme, 5 stars!
- Rated 5 out of 5by Peter Lyons Kehl, 2 years agoThank you. So useful and smooth.
Please add icons for dark/black Firefox theme. See an example (another extension that supports light-on-dark toolbar icons): https://github.com/waymondrang/docsafterdark/issues/24. - Rated 5 out of 5by chalupa_jt, 2 years agoYeah this is pretty snazzy! I've had issues with other dark mode extensions in the past and on other browsers, so I'm pleased that this one just simply works. There's a convenient but unobtrusive on/off toggle in the bottom left corner too. If you use colored text a lot, don't forget to uncheck the grayscale option!
- Rated 5 out of 5by rome, 2 years agoWhat can I say that others haven't already? It does exactly what it claims to without clutter or bugs or anything unhelpful. It's simple and versatile and overall amazing.
The only suggestion I have is to have the extension affect the "Show more" button on lengthy comments; at present that text is accompanied by a glaring white bar that breaks the darkness of the rest of the doc. Other than that, this extension couldn't be more perfect!Developer response

Simple addon with a simple UI, easy to use and efficient, changes update immediately on clicking buttons, it even has a little toggle in the bottom left when you're on docs. I personally recommend you this extension. 10/10. Thanks for the quality work waymondrang!

- Rated 4 out of 5by GeneralKenobi, 2 years agoI love this extension, by far the most practically functional, stable, and well featured extension for enabling Dark Mode on Google Docs
A feature I would like to see however is the ability for the extension to effect embedded google docs pages within another page.
For example, I use the DM Screen on 5eTools and embed the Google Docs document of my campaign notes for reference and quick editing without needing multiple tabs or windows open, but it's very jarring to have google docs sit there in light mode, blazing like the firey sun.
Thank you :)Developer response
posted 2 years agoThank you for the feedback! I have not added dark mode support for the embedded windows, but this is something I am working on. - Rated 4 out of 5by Cyntaria, 2 years agoGreat for making the page darker, only issue is it doesn't make black text white like in microsoft office for example. I understand it may be difficult to implement as you're a 3rd party dev making essentially a mod for google docs. Could it be possible to make black text appear white like with something that automatically edits the page source thing? For now I have to use shade but I'd rather use dark and not have to manually change the text to white, especially as it's for shared documents. Thanks.

posted 2 years agoThank you for your feedback and ideas! In version 0.5.2, the invert option has been modified to achieve an effect similar to the dark mode in Microsoft Word. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17524493, 2 years agoReally appreciate this being made, saves my eyes from the blinding fury of 1000 google docs. Now I just squint cause of my poor word choices and not the screen, thanks!
- Rated 5 out of 5by Clark Dowding, 2 years agoExactly what I wanted. Dark mode for Google Docs. Works perfectly on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and latest Firefox. Thanks @waymondrang!

- Rated 5 out of 5by kronmoney, 2 years agoVery useful. Would like to have an option for the background colour though; my preferred page colour blends into the background, so I'd like that to go darker.
Developer response
posted 2 years agoThank you for your positive review and feedback! There are currently no plans to add background color customization. I would recommend changing the page color to be a bit lighter than your preferred setting. Perhaps try the hex color, #212121. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17503198, 2 years ago

posted 2 years agoI apologize if my add-on's page was misleading. This extension was made for Google Docs and does not have support for Google Drive, Google Sheets, or PowerPoint. If you have any suggestions for me, such as a more suitable name for the extension, please feel free to contact me at issues@waymondrang.com. Thank you! - Rated 4 out of 5by Starkeeper, 2 years ago
