- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12875581, 8 years agoHave used this for years but now it will not work for the last week or two and is causing other browser problems. Makes one wonder whether the info in one's vault is really secure because they can't fix it. Have spent hours with their support agents with no result and they give a different story every time as to when it will be fixed, Does not inspire confidence and would not recommend this
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12873007, 8 years agoBefore this week I would have recommended this service, but for some reason the plugins for firefox and chrome have stopped working, and even the desktop app doesn't work anymore. The only thing that works is logging onto the website itself. They need to fix this soon.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Bobb, 8 years agoI've been a Norton subscriber for many years. Identity Safe is one of my most favored features, but it hasn't worked with Firefox for quite a while. Password entry for Identity Safe just spins and spins and spins and.....
It's been noted in previous posts. I just find it strange that nothing been done to fix this bug. It once worked wonderfully! Please! Fix it!
UPDATE: February 2019 Norton Identity Safe works wonderfully with Firefox now! Thanks! - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 12850632, 8 years agoit's been working great for a few days now and has been fine
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12867421, 8 years agoSame as everybody else. Identity safe can't log on, just sits and spins. Left computer on all night and it was still spinning this AM.
Guess I'll just have to print out a copy of all my passwords and leave it on my desk for all to see. thanks a lot Norton and Mozilla! Too bad there is not a sub category for less than 1 star! - Rated 2 out of 5by rkbest, 8 years agoMany have reported and I want to point similar problem with Win 7 Pro machine have same issue. Can use any Norton password with Firefox.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Nicolas KAHN, 8 years agoAfter waiting a long time for this add on it was working fine since 3.3.2017..."Validating Password" spinning all the time but nothing happens....
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12867718, 8 years agoI just bought a new windows 10 machine. I had a Vista machine. The vault was working great on Vista, but it just sits there and spins when I try to unlock the vault on my new Windows 10 machine.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Haytham, 8 years agoI don't know really why Norton don't care to our needs and finish working on Identity Safe fast ??!!!
Why all this time and why wasting our
time ??
You need to make Identity safe not free then let us know and anyone need to pay will pay but respect us. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12846282, 8 years agodoesn't keep up with Firefox updates - works fine & then next update it's useless. very poor option for passwords as you can't assume it'll always work. Latest Firefox update rendered it useless once again. Frustrating.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12746730, 8 years agoWe've all been waiting on Norton to fix Identity Safe on Firefox, and I was excited to see that it was working right after the last update. BUT it only worked for about 10 minutes. Now it's back to not letting me log in for autofilling passwords in this browser. It still works on Internet Explorer and on my iPhone. Norton is more frustrating than it's worth lately.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12175786, 8 years agoIch bin mit Norton nicht mehr zufrieden.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Randy_Blanchard, 8 years agoAfter decades of using Norton products, I am now ready to look elsewhere. The problem isn't your browser, it's Norton! They are just not interested in producing quality software for individual users. Blaming Firefox or Chrome is just smoke and mirrors on the part of an unqualified Customer Service. Identity Safe is lousy shoddy software that fails under the least bit of internet stress. Just say good-bye and bite the bullet - don't give them your money any more.
- Rated 1 out of 5by kenteicher, 8 years agoThe add on for Mozilla was working - now it isn't. I have removed the add on, closed and reopened Mozilla, uploaded again and it still does not work.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12834694, 8 years agoI agree, every time Firefox updates, NIS does not work. I have to go in and add it to the add ons.
This time it still doesn't work.
Can't you and Norton get together before releasing a new update and get it right with Norton?
Rating is for Firefox - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12832900, 8 years agoFirefox releases updates that are not compatible with Identity Safe on a frequent basis. I depend on Identity Safe to manage my logins, and it has proven to be reliable for many years. Firefox, on the other hand isn't, so now I use Chrome. The rating is for Firefox, not Identity Safe.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Strnj1, 8 years agoif the passwords will still be there when it starts working again.
I want, desperately to find another password manager that I can trust... - Rated 1 out of 5by Petert44, 8 years agoI just installed Firefox on my ThinkPad running Windows 10 and up until the time I tried to get Norton's tool bars installed I was very pleased with FF and considered uninstalling IE 11. Unfortunately, the add-on for ID safe appears not to be able to support a local vault for the passwords. I don't know if this is a Norton problem or FF. There is no way I going to place my passwords online. Does anyone know of a workaround?
- Rated 3 out of 5by Rudy81, 8 years agoI am glad to see NIS is functional gain in Firefox. I had left the browser due to the problems with NIS. However, the current version seems to thing search boxes require some sort of input from NIS. In one case, it sticks my user name for a site in the search box and places the password in the correct box. So, still needs some work....please keep making it better.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Iconoclast, 8 years agoClick on the icon for the identity safe in the upper right corner, then click logout of your Norton account. Then go back to the icon and click it again, and click login to Norton account. Once you log in to your Norton account it will prompt you to log into your vault and it will work. You have to be logged into your Norton account and the vault and I think once it expires, it is too stupid to inform you and it stays logged in and prevents access to the vault.
This is obviously a huge problem and a major oversight on Norton's part. Big surprise there, they don't seem to care about Firefox users. After waiting a year for the identity safe to return, this is a major disappointment. Good thing I still use LastPass. Norton has completely lost my trust. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 12272696, 8 years agoWow finally, it started working. I had firefox updated to Firefox 50 and it started work on my Windows as well as CentOS (Linux) Operating System. Though on my Linux, the app page shows not compatible(though it is) and doesn't seem to update to versio 1.2.47.5 from 1.0.220 (One star removerd from that)
- Rated 1 out of 5by Al, 8 years agoIt seemed like I waited a year for Norton Identity Vault to work with Firefox again. When it was added about a month ago it had limited functionality but it worked. Starting November 27, 2016, it now crashes when I try to enter my vault pin! The Error Message: "Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again."
Developer response

Please try signing fully out of your Norton Account and signing back in when this error occurs. - Rated 2 out of 5by Ann620, 8 years agoThis worked great the first few weeks when using Firefox, however now when I go to logon, the logon screen is blank. Very disappointing! It works fine on Google.
- Rated 3 out of 5by Duane, 8 years agoI'm using the latest version (1.2.47.5) on FireFox 50 and it seems to work, but it's very annoying to have to login again for every new web site I visit. It seems to mostly defeat the purpose. However, it works as expected in IE 11 with no additional logins required after the first time.
