- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14446495, a year agoI wanted to highlight a Real Estate property address and then have multiple, local RE agencies directly open "the first hit" on Google (I used a DuckDuckGo "I'm feeling lucky" URL trick) and it works great for that doing a Multi Engine Search. I wish there was a way to have "separate" Multi-Searches, say, grouped by the "keyword" but otherwise, great work.
- Rated 4 out of 5by TheKwertyOne, a year agoThe newly added icon matrix interferes with other hotkeys. The option to disable it does not work for me at all, the 'tick' there does nothing to disable it.

posted 2 months agoI'm not able to reproduce this bug. Checking the "Disable icon grid" option prevents the icon grid from appearing. If you're still encountering this bug, then please open an issue on GitHub and detail which OS and firefox version you're using as well as the steps taken to produce the bug. Thank you. - Rated 5 out of 5by Kane, a year agoit's impressive but i have a problem. certain website don't make searching on its site if the keywords is more than one.. for example, 'the tree'.. the site will show empty page.. but the site only give the result if there is no empty space between the words so i have to type "the%tree".. it just wont work unless the empty space is removed.. many site have the same problem. please guide me,

posted a year agoHi Kane, If I understand correctly, you'd like to be able to use more than ONE word for a keyword. Honestly, I don't think that's very practical as a keyword should be a very short single word that is easy to remember and quick to type. Could you not use just 'tree' instead of 'the tree', or if you absolutely want to use 'the', perhaps 'the_tree'? - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16555408, a year ago
- Rated 5 out of 5by djman, a year agoOne of my favourite browser extensions, use it every day and with a lot of websites. My only (very minor) complaint is that this setting doesn't work for me:-
̶"̶D̶i̶s̶a̶b̶l̶e̶ ̶i̶c̶o̶n̶ ̶g̶r̶i̶d̶ ̶(̶A̶l̶t̶ ̶+̶ ̶C̶l̶i̶c̶k̶)̶"̶
̶
̶(̶i̶t̶ ̶d̶i̶s̶p̶l̶a̶y̶s̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶g̶r̶i̶d̶ ̶w̶h̶e̶t̶h̶e̶r̶ ̶o̶r̶ ̶n̶o̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶s̶e̶t̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶t̶i̶c̶k̶e̶d̶)̶
Anyway, a big THANK YOU to the developer(s). :)
edit: I should have said that the ALT-CLICK menu would be much better for me if it displayed a list rather than a grid, if it did then I wouldn't want to disable it
edit2: unticked the config, re-ticked, then it worked (could swear I tried that already but perhaps I was being a numpty)Developer response
posted a year agoSorry for the problem you're experiencing. I can't seem to reproduce the issue on my mac. Would you mind opening an issue on GitHub here: https://github.com/odebroqueville/contextSearch/issues and provide me with some info about your OS, Firefox version, CS version and detail how to reproduce the bug? I didn't quite understand how a list would be different to what is offered in the context menu. - Rated 5 out of 5by JesusTouchedMe, a year ago

- Rated 3 out of 5by SSSR, 2 years agoIn Firefox you can quickly toggle on and off the main Menu Bar visibility by pressing the Alt key.
But this extension breaks this functionality.
Unfortunately, I have to refuse to use it and disable this extension. - Rated 4 out of 5by Yaroslav, 2 years agoThis is an impressive add-on. It helped me to get both English and German wiktionary searches. However, I see a problem with permissions. We all know how often something is breached on the web. Why asking for "access your data for all web sites"? It includes all our passwords and forms! "Context Wiktionary" does a similar job, but asks for NO permissions at all!
Developer response
posted a year agoThank you, Yaroslav. You shouldn't worry about the permissions. I've looked into it, but to my knowledge there's no way that I can avoid requesting "access your data for all web sites" if I want to offer users a 'grid of icons' feature. Concerning passwords, an extension cannot access passwords stored in your browser, but the general rule is to only install extensions who's authors you trust. (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1225776) This is easier said than done, but if an extension has a good history, the chances you'll get into trouble are reduced. I would personally recommend that, when visiting finance related web sites either use a different secured Firefox profile or visit the web site in private mode. 3 stars because this bug is not fixed throughout the entire 4th branch.
The last working version is 3.9.5 as written below.

Yes, 4.4.2, the problem is gone, thank you!
As a wish, I would like to be able to set the icon search manually, so far I do it through JSON export/import. - Rated 4 out of 5by Alexander Peter, 2 years agousefull but can add folder groups for search engines ? Thank you a lot
- Rated 2 out of 5by Punktir, 2 years agoНе понял, как создавать категории поисков?
Удобно когда поиски можно группировать и искать сразу во всех магазинах или только в поисковиках, например. - Rated 2 out of 5by rediffusion, 2 years agoНет возможно выборочного поиска на нескольких сайтах одновременно. Фигня!
- Rated 5 out of 5by Hassanjwr6, 2 years agoThank you for this amazing addon, But I found one problem, I searched everywhere and could'nt find a solution.
How can I add links with this pattern to CS?
I tried this,
"www.example.com/search/%s"
etc.
but most of time it returns nothing or returns a debug page of the site that shocked me.
one real example for this problem is Nexusmod when searching for a game.
How can I add it to CS ?
Please Help
Edit:
I just sent message to author, he is a nice guy.
The problem is the some website do not use the legecy method of URL search method such as google, youtube, etc. They use POST method and you need another addons for that I will leave the reply from Olivier him self, Thank you very much Olivier.
"
Hi Hassan,
I think the problem is that those websites use the POST method for the searches which my version of Context Search doesn’t support.
I actually don’t know how to add that feature to CS, so I can only recommend another very good extension which does support POST methods:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/contextsearch-web-ext/
Kind regards,
Olivier
