- Rated 5 out of 5by Occasional Nerd, 7 years agoI love following certain gaming channels for about one or two of their usual ongoing Let's Plays but they frequently "spam" my subscription page with 80% of their content that I just don't care for. This makes it much harder to see content from other creators sometimes. So I set those specific titles, usually X Plays Y, as blocked. Now all I get is what I subscribed for. This should be a feature Youtube offers by default but don't.
It's easy to set up, easy to block stuff with, and you see the results instantly without refreshing so you can immediately rectify any mistakes you may have made. I cannot recommend this enough and will donate once I'm able to. - Rated 5 out of 5by JD, 7 years agoI used to pass much, much time on youtube videos that were pretty stupid.. Plus, I used to get many recommendations of youtube channels I didn't want to watch videos from.
And, OMG, this "Video Blocker" came in my life.
It definitely works like a charm, you just have to copy the channel name, check that there is no space added in front or at the back, and paste in the "Add" tab with the "Channel" option.
Then, you'll never see the video channel in recommendations or elsewhere.
Now I watch only music and educational videos. It really helped me stop losing time on totally useless videos. Two thumbs up to the dev , thanks you very much Lemonrice !
Edit : I saw the other comments about the update that makes it does not work anymore.. But it seems to have solutions too. I may be lucky, it never stopped working perfectly for me ! - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13330098, 7 years ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by magicmushrooms, 7 years agoFirst of all Mr Lemonrice the Video Blocker add on was a great thing when it worked properly but now although it states that it's compatible with FF 57 ( FF Quantum 57 beta 4 version ) and up it's not working and once again i am flooded with mamma and papas vloggers kids annoying videos in try and just wanting and waiting for you to find a solution out of this blackout situation so VB can once again be called great and useful add on and i as a user continue to watch yt in civilized manner with mention fart squadron channels blocked and tucked somewhere far away in the emptiness of the network
- Rated 1 out of 5by HedgehogInTheCPP, 7 years agoThe extension does not work. However, at the same time bothers with huge messages.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Alex Reynard, 7 years agoVideo Blocker has been one of my absolute favorite addons ever. It did exactly what it said (even if accidentally being linked to a blocked-title video did crash Firefox). But after Firefox's last update, it has stopped working completely. I'm being flooded with all the utter garbage that reminds me why I wanted Video Blocker so much in the first place. It's nearing a month now and they haven't fixed it. Maybe this will send a message. I'm sorry.
- Rated 1 out of 5by micameyer, 7 years agoI spent weeks adding channels I do not want to view on Youtube, now with the terrible new Youtube layout I cannot use this app. I am seeing all the annoying channels I blocked.
Please fix this app because I am not going to use the new clunky slow Youtube layout. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13290382, 7 years agoBut other than that works perfectly. Thanks!
Edit: If you want to use old youtube, download Version 5.2.5 instead - Rated 3 out of 5by Dragonetta, 7 years agoI am now seeing blocked content again ever since your last update. I can't bear YouTube without this plugin. Please fix it ASAP! Too much hateful, racist content on YouTube. I need this plugin!
- Rated 3 out of 5by John, 7 years agoSince the last update, it doesn't work. It's not working for 3 days now, and it is really annoying to see all this lame content popping up everywhere. I rate 5 stars, but I will go down by one star each day it's not fixed.
Thank you for your work on this, but we still need your hardwork!
Also it would be good if when we click on an external link that leads to a blocked channel it doesn't freeze Firefox, but a window would pop-up and say it's blocked content, that would be sooo nice. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12461452, 7 years agoThanks again for the great job. This addon has become an essential for me when browsing youtube. I get so many more relevant videos in the recommendations without creating an account.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13286329, 7 years agoYou can block all the shitty Youtuber with crap content
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13281670, 7 years agoI found the temporary fix from a YT video from TechTips.
Go to your signin logo on the far right top, click, scroll down, and choose Restore Classic Youtube. Tell them something is broken, and that is video blocker. Good luck! - Rated 1 out of 5by rohithjyo, 7 years agoIt is used to work quite well. Suddenly, just stopped for no reason.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13281132, 7 years agoSo simple, so effective, no more spam or repetitive junk in my youtube searches. I can enjoy youtube without having to search and search through irrelevant videos and clickbait, or 30 different news channels uploading the same story. Just right click the video, and right there at the bottom, it says "block videos from this channel" so I just click it and done! No more CNN! Hurray!!
It doesn't work with the new youtube layout, but that's okay, because some of my other add-ons don't either, so I had to revert to old youtube anyway.
Also, my CPU and internet signal are crap, and this add-on doesn't affect it a bit. That was the 5 star kicker for me. Very impressive. Thank you so very, very much developer. - Rated 1 out of 5by JimboBkk, 7 years agoDoes not WORK! Just downloaded this thing 06/02/2018 and I cannot block any if not all videos on YouTube.
- Rated 5 out of 5by TylerAbeoJordan, 7 years agoNot the developers fault. Youtube changed it's display system and broke this addon - but you can go under your icon on youtube in the upper right hand corner and change to old youtube view ... then this addon will work again. Hopefully the developer here will do an update for the new youtube view.
- Rated 1 out of 5by purewood553, 7 years agoUsed to work, then it stopped. Tried re-installing, and although there are no error messages, it does not seem to block anything even when I use the manual method, and even if I try each of the options. Can't find anything in community support about it either. Thanks, and I will check back from time to time to see if there is a new version.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Foxe, 7 years agoI was under the impression that this worked. I was sadly mistaken. All I want is to block all videos with the keyword "react" in the title. Why hasn't anyone made something that works like this?
