- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 12329442, 8 years agoThis could be a good one.
But it's not.
When you clic on a link of a video from a creator you blocked, your web browser will freeze.
Why?
It should let us click, but always hide the video's miniature on every Youtube page! At least it should not freeze the browser when we click on a link...
I don't get it... - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12914681, 8 years agoThis add on is a joke. It works fine on Chrome, but no matter what you do, it will not let you add channels to avoid from one computer running Firefox to another. They offer advice that does not work unless you're a career broadcast engineer or have a computer degree.
- Rated 4 out of 5by CurryMeniac, 8 years agoVery good extension.
but still it can't block playlists
Is it technically impossible to block them in future update?
that would make this almost perfect - Rated 3 out of 5by SeanBerks, 8 years agoOften the Right-Clicking and choosing block channel does nothing, only works if manually inputted
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12857976, 8 years agoQuick, easy to use, works perfectly.
Sometimes when blocking a channel while on a video of that channel, the add-on locks the browser for a couple seconds. Nothing major though. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12838031, 8 years agothis addon works great in chrome but the firefox version makes loading any YouTube page very slow and sometimes freezes up the browser
- Rated 3 out of 5by Net, 8 years agoWhen I try to add channel to block list nothing happens at all.
In black-list channel not appears. Why did you broke this cool plug-in???
PS I have an 192 items in black list
ps 2 when I open blocked chanel (by link or autoplay function on of youtube) - firefox hangs up! - Rated 5 out of 5by Jovpsy, 8 years agoPitty that there is no mobile version. Finally got rid of freak family and toy reviews. Ty to the creator
- Rated 1 out of 5by odo, 8 years agoNo rightmouseclick, no copy paste of an url, nothing works in ff.
Does work in chrome however, that browser I do not use.
We have to swollow the garbage b*llsh*t I guess.
Mindpolution if you want it or not.
Total control is here! - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 12713328, 8 years agoIt's a great add-on, but it does't work with the new Material Design :(
I hope the add-on will be updated, because it's a great tool to block all kinds of annoying channels. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 12709188, 8 years agoOverall youtube has really become a garbage community, but now with this addon you can just right click a thumbnail from a channel you don't like and it disappears from your computer - its very seamless and works amazingly. not sure why people are giving it hate in the reviews, maybe because they have crappy drama and poltical channels and don't want to lose views? FYI: freedom of speech just means that the government can't stop you from saying what you want to say. It does not mean that people have to agree with you and it doesn't mean that they can't ignore you :)
I like to occasionally "backup" my block list by exporting it to a cloud drive in case i ever have to reinstall my browser or OS i can just reimport all the crappy channels back to block list! Works perfectly!
I also highly recommend "herp a derp" addon which turns all the comments into random herps and derps (which is basically what they are anyways) - you are welcome! - Rated 1 out of 5by 794, 8 years agoSad to see this being neglected and the dev not giving us a way to modify the blacklist of keywords used to block videos.
Even when this was working, the implementation was crap. Let's say you see a video in your suggestions list and want to block that channel. Instead of the extension blocking the channel, it blocks the channel and keywords in the video title. Then, when you're scrolling through channels that you *do* want to see, it blocks videos that shared keywords with the videos you've blocked.
Want to access the blacklist so you can only make it block channel names and keywords of your choice? Too bad. - Rated 5 out of 5by Epic_Abdallah, 8 years agoHelps me protect children, and block their aftermath
I'd really like to donate, but sadly, out of money - Rated 3 out of 5by Zoltan, 8 years agoi tried it on chrome, and it works by right clicking any video, on firefox it doesn't work, am i doing something wrong here ?
- Rated 1 out of 5by Crow, 8 years agoIt worked well before. Now it hides EVERY video on youtube no matter if it contains the blacklisted word or not. Oh come on devs....
- Rated 1 out of 5by DONK, 8 years agoInstalled this in hopes to hide all those clickbait, vine compilation and other terrible channels I have no interest in but it ends up blocking everything on the main page and in searches about 40% of the time which makes this addon unusable.
